The MicroPuff is good but my only gripe is the material - Its VERY thin and the stitching can come loose quite easily too! Getting the GW2 tomorrow!

Great review! Disagree on ghost whisperer 2 cuffs and hem drawcord for waist. MH GW1 had elastic wrist cuffs. They did away with them for durability. Elastic is a major failure point on all jackets. GW2 made a much more durable design. These jackets are hard use and skiing and field work shred the cuffs! Waist drawcord again is critical for keeping out drafts especially skiing--chairlift gusts if you aren't wearing a bib, and snow up the jacket from a fall can soak/ruin your afternoon! GW2 wins the comparison hands down IMHO. You get what you pay for!

Yeah because I’ve done it a lot already and was specifically doing these two jackets. I have the gw 2 vs gw ul vid coming soon for that.

I learned a hard lesson over a decade.. I always got hoodless down jackets on sale thinking no biggy. Well.. it is a biggy, it sucks. I think I’ll end up with the Ghost Whisperer because I’ll be able to find a good deal cheaper. Patagonia does have a MUCH better warranty than other big name outdoor brands though so maybe worth the additional cost. Mountain hardware hasn’t let me down yet though. Had a ski jacket of theirs for a decade working in the mountains and it held up great.

i agree. Started hoodless as well for layering purposes, but found I dont put a shell over is as much to make it worth going hoodless. Many more pros then cons for the hooded

@@BackcountryRenegade subconsciously I was under the impression hooded stuff was frowned upon.. you’re stuck with it when you don’t need it.. logic seems sound right? Nope, anytime I need a down jacket on, I always wish it was hooded too haha. Expensive lesson

Id personally take something a bit heavier Like the down sweater or cerium, unless you play to wear several layers underneath

Man, do the Mountain Hardwear Ghost Whisperer 1000 keep you warm? Is it as good as the Summit L3? Greetings from turkey
@i-yangh1384
@i-yangh1384 5 ай бұрын
@@mehmetbaykurd6998 I think it depends on what you want really. Ghost Whisperer is very lightweight 8oz and meant to be a midlayer. It's much more versatile for strategic layering, wearing it under another jacket. Summit L3 14oz is likely designed to be an outer layer. Summit is a little warmer and the shell is a little more durable. you can also wear these 2 together if you like!
