It's an amateur event open to all, which allows many weekend warriers, myself included to compete in events they could only dream of, and thats the beauty of it, amateurs and pro's together 🤗 i've done 8 of these european events in 10 years and their availability and inclusivity is to be applauded 👏 in my opinion...

Hello, Super performance. going uphill is hard... I have a question about the races. have you driven the route before? or do you drive blind? I wish you continued success. maybe we'll see each other in 2023 :)
@jesmtb2 жыл бұрын
Hi, we have done the race 6 times and the routes change slightly each year, but the bulk is the same. They don't disclose the route until race day, but the signage goes up a couple of days before and you can ride most sections apart from the glacier. There is also a qualifier the day before which is a different route (half the length) and again you can ride sections of it on the days before. All my races for qualif and finale (from 2015-2022) are on my channel, so enjoy and see you there next year!

is there less snow because they did it earlier this year
@jesmtb2 жыл бұрын
Sadly, it’s because it’s getting warmer so the glacier is receding 😬 it was particularly mild this year, hopefully slightly less so next year 🤞🏼 it’s the first time in the 6 years that I have done the event that it wasn’t started on the glacier at 3600m ☹️
@TheMajorQC2 жыл бұрын
@@jesmtb 😓I was hopping it wasn't because of climate change
@jesmtb2 жыл бұрын
@@TheMajorQC there are cold years and milder years quite randomly, but the definite overall trend in resort is that it’s getting warmer in winter and summer seasons ☹️

Hei Mate, I am 55 year old and made it in 1:05 and was 22nd in class 😜, well done, important is to achieve Venosc in one piece and have a funny week with colleagues. We will return next year, how about you?

Well done mate great achievement! This year was my 6th MOH and i've done Mega twice as well, so we keep coming back to it whenever we can, and really missed the last two years :( although we did recreate our own MOH events both years, see the vids on my channel along with previous years videos! 2017 was a particularly interesting MOH, did you take part in that one?
@olivierboeckli78772 жыл бұрын
@@jesmtb Hello no, we did not participate in 2017, this year was our 2nd participation. The first participation was last year 2021, I think the routing was much easier than this year. Actually, we intended to participate in 2020, but unfortunately this version fell victim to the Covid. Nevertheless, we spent 4 days in Les deux Alps to let off some steam. How is the Megavalanche in Alpe d'Huez compared to the MOH? It usually takes place the weekend after the MOH, isn't it? There are usually three of us, but unfortunately one colleague dropped out for both events due to knee problems. Next year, all three of us will be in the 50+ category (I have been for a long time with my 55 😉 ). We all work in the civil sector, 2 in tunnel construction (including myself) and one in earthworks and road construction, got to know each other on the Tunnel du Fréjus project in different functions. I think we will also take part next year, as the third colleague in particular has only been a spectator twice so far...

@@olivierboeckli7877 Megavalanche is very similar, so if you enjoy MOH, you will enjoy Mega! I am a civil engineer as well, its a small world 🙂

Why would people do anything like that? Why are they not trying to hike that mountain on a swimming mattress, for example?
