Mountain Stream TROUT Fishing (Rainbow & Brown)

I went trout fishing in a beautiful mountain stream! I caught some gorgeous rainbow trout and brown trout. It was a very hot day so I got an early start. During the summer, mornings are the best time for fishing. The stream water was around 55 degrees which is great for trout fishing. This is one of the most beautiful trout streams I have ever fished. I used a gold blade Fish Hawk spinner the entire day and the trout loved it!

In a stream like that you want to use light tackle like a 1/3 oz lure and reel medium speed and keep working it. It dose take practice I’ve fished over 40 years and I still get hung up occasionally in creeks and in rivers as well it

Yes dude, that looks like where I fish- clear, fast, sweet tiny falls into sick pools (ours are max 4 feet deep tho, no 10 footers), SUPER LOUD and snaggy sometimes too lol. Great catches man!

Dude... Friggin' Trout heaven Right there... Almost doesnt matter if you dont Land any Fish!? (which, Yes, would be ridiculous and sad) but the water and woods, are just AMAZING! WOW. I sure do miss these kinds of waters, Like Peaks creek in NC, or Horse Cove in Highlands NC... They are just so OVERFISHED now... Not rich with fish like they were 20 years ago.

How do you usually cast the trout magnet set up? I tried for the first time today. Everything was too light to cast with any distance.

6 lb test line, light power rod with fast action. If you're using a heavier rod and heavier line it's going to be difficult to cast.

It’s great to catch and release which I do at times but there is nothing like fresh trout for dinner but I never keep more than I need I never keep more than my limit which is 5 in Ca I never freeze what I catch I eat it the same day especially if I’m camping I think frying fresh trout over the camp fire is the best I never waste what I keep I’ll even give some away to people whom I know will eat it.

Possibly. It's impossible to know, you just have to go fish and try. Some streams get fished out in a day after they stock. I've also fished streams a week after they stock and caught fish.

I do, I just edit it out. I didn't lose any spinners, but I got snagged a few times. Whenever I get snagged, I just walk upstream past the snag and it pops loose.

Oh trust me, I got snagged. Just edited it out. It's inevitable. Especially in a stream like this. I didn't lose any lures though. Every time I got snagged, I got it back.
