There's a handful of good freshwater fishing channels on KZbin. This is one of my new favorites. I like your vibe. Not overly excited every time you hook up, you cook your fish a different way in every video I've seen yet, and you don't do the whole, dry scripted monologues edited in. That always feels so hokey to me. This feels much more genuine. Like fishing with a homie or something.

Just happened upon this video while looking for fishing ambience for some background sounds. This brought back fond memories of my Gramps who was big into fishing. He passed away last year and lately I've had the urge to go out fishing in his honour. The love of fishing just really shines through and I love your enthusiasm and just overall positive outlook you had going in this video. I look forward to watching your other videos!

Nice trout, man! Brook trout are some of the prettiest fish in the planet, in my opinion. I live in Maine, where (especially up in the northern half,) we have tons of brook trout. They’re so fun to fish for, are so beautiful, and are also delicious to eat! All in all, try fishing for brook trout if you can, people. It is more than worth it, especially if you go to a remote trout pond, where there’s nobody but you and the fish and loons.

Use procure problem solved. There's trophy trout. I know primarily you fish for trout. You get procure you're all set. Also, they have procure blood worm which fish love. The blood worm you can use for striper, trophy bass for stripers, large mouth and smallies. Also, can get the mole crab soft plastic and procure mole crab attractant. Then there's sweet corn for trout, carp, catfish, and bass. Multiple species like the corn scent. Finally, there's shrimp scent for bass and striper.

When I saw, "Catch and Cook," I wanted to see an actual video where they ate fish rather than just catch and release. Well, you caught 16, and only ate 3 of them. That first day you should have eaten those larger Rainbow Trout from the first lake. That second lake had a bunch of trout, yet they were all competing for food, so they were all pretty scrawny. The 3 Brook Trout you caught to eat looked nice! I have only caught Rainbow Trout in the Trout family..I mean Kokanee is not really Trout, and of course fish like Bluegill, Sunfish, Bass, and Catfish, or Ocean Fish, like Jack Smelt, King Fish, Perch, Barracuda, Tom Cod, and Rock Cod cannot compare. Those three species of Trout were beautiful!

Nice video as usual. I couldn't tell by watching. Were you using a sinker to cast out? If so, how far up from the fly or jig. Also, how far out are you casting them? They are so light I wouldn't think that you could cast them out very far without weight.
@KevinRapkochFishing2 жыл бұрын
Hey David, I know you were asking the creator of the video, but thought I'd offer my style! For lightweight spinners/jigs, I pinch on a split shot about 6-8 inches above the lure. If I'm spinning flies, and need to cast them far, I do a drop shot technique where the drop shot weight is tied about 10-15 inches BELOW the fly (the fly is tied inline). ✌️🎣
@ac80982 жыл бұрын
Looked like he had a small, weighted bobber ahead of the fly.

From my experience I cannot eat more than one Brook Trout. It fills me up. This guy is talking three to eat. My Uncle and I used to fish a lake in Wyoming I called Brook Trout Heaven because of all the Brookies we caught there. My uncle grew up in West Virginia and growing up they brought home everything they caught for Grandma to feed the family. It took me years to break him to release fish. Sadly he died last year and Aunt is in nursing home so lost that place to stay.
