@trishnewman9103 жыл бұрын
I watched Mountain View Primary school being built. From them clearing the bushes to putting up the structure. I remember they found a huge yellow snake over there. My sister and I were amongst the first set of students there when it opened. Mr Campbell was the head master. Ms. Henry, Mr Grandison , Mrs Smith and mrs. Sutherland are among the teachers I can recall. To the right by the ,you had a Radtafarian family living there. I was in class with one if the sons, i think his name was Uriah. Fond memories.

@@trishnewman910 Wow you have an incredible memory. Thanks for sharing.
@trishnewman9103 жыл бұрын
@@JamaicanInsider you are so welcome. Hahaha... could not remember anything when I was in school. Probably it was the amount of whipping I used to get from that Mr Campbell . You want to know the worse part? I had a fight one day, and he waited until school was over to address the issue with me. That day was a teachers meeting and for whatever reason, his son was at the school visiting. You know what this man did? The man beat me in front of all the teachers present and to add insult to injury, his son was there too. The man had me stretch out each hand to get the licks, every time the licks reached me, I had to rub my hands on my uniform as it was so painful. Then if that was not enough, he threw some of the licks over my back for added measures. Wicked!!!!... The thing about this beating was, there is no way I could let my parents know about it, especially my dad, because I would have to answer the question of why was I fighting? Those were the days. Thanks again.

It's 60 years ago I left Mountain View Avenue and migrate to the UK. I remember so much just looking at this video. I used to attend Windward Rd school. Back in those days Mountain View was much better kept up than it now is. I actually use to go to my music lesson class in Jacques Rd. There were lots of beautiful gardens people could relax on there verandas then a trip down to my local cinema Rialto. Just how much I've embalmed those days of my youth. I better stop now as I'm beginning to get carried away!
