We head off to our Idaho cabin and discover AMAZING IDAHO CAMPING GEMS that are both low cost as well as many free camping locations. We just had to share with you as most have never heard of the South Fork of the Boise River and the amazing camping that is found near Pine and Featherville, Idaho. Rving in Idaho is fantastic with so much variety to choose from. Idaho camping sports range from paid National Forrest sites to free dispersed camping and all are great options. What are you waiting for, it's time to RV Idaho.
Pine, Idaho is located about a hour and a half east of Boise. It's in the Boise National Forrest while Featherville, a few miles to the north of Pine is on the edge of the Sawtooth National Forrest

Never have spent a lot of time over in that area. But used to spend time around Fall Creek. My brother used to work for the old owner of the Fall Creek Lodge. It's very beautiful up there 😍

We love Fall Creek. It's sad to see that area now after the fire a few years back that destroyed many of the cabins in Fall Creek. Fortunately the lodge is still there.

Make reservations if you’re wanting to camp at Baumgartner’s. Lots of trees in the campground so Starlink is probably iffy. 🤷🏻‍♂️

BEST things to see? Wow, how much time do you have? In SLC a lot of tourists like to stop downtown to get a tour of the Mormon temple grounds and pioneer museum. There is always the Salt Flats or just downtown SLC. In Park City there is the Nation Ski Team training center that I believe also has a museum full of info from the 2002 SLC Winter Olympics. There is old town, downtown Park City. You might want to check with TripAdvisor. Probably not during the spring run off but in the summer, sure. Not sure of the size of dog you are referring to though.

Many so called free camping areas are now being restricted. Many long timers with channels are now moving into the homesteading community. Even today, the mindset is that these communities don't want drifters living in or even around "their" community. Idaho authorities will definitely confront anyone with out of state plates, unless you are in a designated fee camping area. Places like Lake Tahoe, where I spent months during the 2019 summer season has now posted No Camping signs everywhere you go. It's really a shame.

It is sad, bud remember every state is different. Right now California probably has some of the tightest restrictions in the country. Our state is pretty much open with camping everywhere. It's best to check the status of the state prior to traveling right now.
