Something I heard awhile ago which I need to start doing is pushing through your body. I don't feel the same push through my body in bench as incline bench but it's a similar idea.

1. Keep your back tight 2. Don’t move your feet 3. Grip - keep it tight. Squeeze hard. 4. Press body away from bar. 5. Leg Drive - tighten skin on upper back.

For tip 4, I’ve really found the floor press a great exercise to initially find that feeling. I struggled with it on the bench, probably my first session visualising it whilst floor pressing and the change just feels natural

No bullshit, just straight forward and absoluetely valuable information! Thank you very much John and Dave! Please John make more videos with Dave, how to deadlift and squat. That would be awesome! a lot of people never talk about the un rack position. That upper body tightness will mean nothing if you un rack the bar incorrectly. A lot of people will un rack the bar eye level but this will cause your shoulders to shrug up on the bench causing you to use your shoulders to un rack the bar.
@mountaindog1

correct. Dave talks about this alot in his coaching

I'll be honest Mr. Meadows I was watching this the other day and was thinking this is pretty clickbaitish and contrive. I watched it because you seem like a good guy. Then today I'm here between sets on bench and gave some a try. Mainly not moving feet and focusing on pushing the bar up instead of moving the weight are really solid tips. I been stuck at 6 reps of 185 on inclined bench for month and a half now and managed to knock out an extra two over all four sets just with this these two techniques. Just want to say thanks for that and I hope you are feeling better. Also, mad jealous of those yoyo skills the mighty mini meadows is putting down.

Tighten the skin is such a game changer for me. It’s a completely different direction for the leg drive cue. It’s really really hard to describe how someone with poor musculature and posture can get tight but once you lose skin movement it seems much easier to keep it all together.
