This had to be in the winter. Great to see Jeff again. I flew in and out of that Air Port for several years back in my good old days. lol

That’s my hometown. Always love flying in and out of KEGE, dream of getting my pilots license one day. Simulator scratches the itch for now. Great video!

Excellent video. Brings back memories long ago when us ATC folk were authorized jumpseat on the airlines. I was fortunate enough to fly into EGE on a COA B752 in mid January, what a great ride and one thing the Captain made sure to mention was in that plane if you weren't at around 210 KIAS over RLG you might as well go-around as that descent after RLG is pretty steep.

This video brings back (not so good) memories of my time flying part 135. Company I flew for thought it was no problem to head to ASE in marginal weather in the winter. I can't count the number of times I ended up at EGE or GJT with pissed off clients. This was the early 80s, fortunately got hired by one of the majors before it got really bad. Just retired end of 2023.

During the course of my flying career (60 years), over 1,000 approaches into KEGE with helicopters, CE-421, PC-12 and CE-525. Great mountain airport and always excellent service and amenities with a top notch FBO. Favorite arrival route was: RLG, VOAXA and AQULA. Worst departure was a July 5th with 97F and no wind with fuel to Mississippi. The PC-12 was not a strong climber on that day. Always enjoy the videos you produce and the places you fly.

Thanks John. Eagle does have its draw backs with the elevation and negative weather that can be very unpredictable.

Jim, I was at the Costco there one day when a lady ask me where the airport was. I had to wait for the noise from the plane to subside so I can let her know she was awful close!!!! Great video sir!! Blue skies

Eagle is interesting and there is a lot to do. I fly into it a lot in my simulator so by now I’m used to it. When the weather comes in it really closes that valley up. Departure is fun there also. Of course on my simulator, sandwiches are a lot less expensive. Cheers.

Love your videos! Question, if Eagle isn't an option, what about Rifle? Not too far away and a pretty different climate there. Or do your clients typically prefer to land close in Eagle rather than make the drive?

Why no Prist? It's cheap.
@dh05z284 ай бұрын
Doesn’t need it. They have a gas/oil heat exchanger, and FBO’s like to accidentally add DEF instead of prist these days. No thanks.

Don’t the FARs say that at 40,000 ft, one of you needs to be constantly wearing an O2 mask?
@sharonbraselton31354 ай бұрын
Wrng that's only 10,000 feet to 16,000feet. Non oresise cabin. Lanes high flyers use oresurseed cabines
@zacharynorman3974 ай бұрын
@@sharonbraselton3135 incorrect. Check FAR 135.89(b)(2). Clearly states above 35k one crew member must constantly wear oxygen. I must assume he operates under part 91, not 135. Which I suppose makes sense.
