This was my impression with the new edition so far too. The first turn is such a waste of time, with nothing happening, unless somebody slips and makes a weird positioning mistake. Bad game design to make 1/4th of the game such a nothingburger.

Great video, but I think you guys might have misplayed when Wyrmblade operatives come out of hiding. They have to be placed more than six inches away from enemies operatives and count as having performed the reposition action.

For the first turning point if nothing much is happening, I think it would be great to do a quick voiceover of the activations while the animation of the top down view is playing. That way it’s easier to follow what’s happening without wasting a bunch of time for shots of single models moving and dashing

when you deploy from ambush you have to do it more than 6 inches away from enemy operatives and you are considered to have done a reposition action, so it's impossible to throw any grenade when you deploy them (nor shotgun shot for that matter)

Your recap on TP 1 was brilliant. Quick and an honest depiction of what to expect on kt24 in gallowdark. Also, keeping in the visuals with the voiceover with select cuts was easily informative enough. Though sadly, wyrmblade cannot set up hiding operatives within 6" of enemies - so grenades, web pistol, and shotguns are not great with hiding (flamer's good to rock, though)! Paused after the killing of the kroot pistoler to comment, very excited for the rest of the video

I learned a LOT about KT from this channel, being able to watch and study how you position your operatives for success in turning point 2+ is very handy. I think jumping straight to the summary of TP1 works. The overview of, "Here's where I moved and why." is the important info for a turning point that doesn't involve any action and can't have any scoring. Good stuff, guys!

As someone brand new to KT (started this edition) and a new fan of your channel, I have some minor input about the 1st turn skip. Overall I like it, it's a good change, but it would be nice to make it a bit clearer who is who. Though the colours match the armies, just adding some text on either side stating which team is which would make it easier to follow for newer people (edit: Especially as I noticed that in the scoring screen your positions are flipped compared to the board-view). Also highlighting the special things happening that you talk about might help making it easier to follow, like the warrior coming out of hiding for example. Circling it or adding some other small animation would be nice to have :)

1 small thing that wouldn't have made a difference to the outcome is that whoever gets a higher score in the kill op gets 1 extra VP, so the final score should really have been 11 - 5 TP 1 recap was a great idea too. Love your vids :)

As a new player, I found myself wanting to see more of your first turn. Just to get a better sense of how you're setting yourselves up for turn 2. I think you could still do it quicker than the other turns, and the overhead map recap was good, but maybe spending a little time (and a little more on-table visuals) if/when you're making an important setup move would be great. Love your battle reports!

I don't want you to consider this negative feedback on the fast forward. But maybe a middle ground. I like the fast forward through things, but maybe pause at things that the players consider noteworthy and do a couple board state shots to explain the thought process of moving. Edit, the top down view with the blips isn't super helpful to me since I can't remember the names of units very easily

Personally I dont mind looking turn 1, your battle reports are already very well edited and not too long. I guess it only matters if there was some fun mind gaming, bantering or counter moving happening in the first turn that would be fun to see. Or useful intel for less experienced players to see. Both ways work.

I’m fairly new so not sure if I’m misunderstanding this: in turn 2 you had ‘Ceasless’ and initially roll 2x5’s/2/1. Does this not mean that you can only reroll the 5’s as they are “results of one result”? Please correct if I’m wrong, as I might have been using ceaseless wrong this whole time! I got a bit lost as to who went where during turning point one. Maybe commentary over the dots moving? Cuz otherwise it’s just sane colours dots moving from one position to another without really understanding, who is going where.

I don't mind fast forwards, but I wish for stuff like that it was a full shot of the table. More occasional "establishing" shots would be good. One caveat, I feel like perfectly overhead / straight down shot often looks bad. I think the minis are most distinguishable from an ~45 angle. Most shots are good though!
