Your videos are amazingly inspiring. And while you have a skill level that I will never achieve, the step by step process you show has helped me tackle some of the smaller repairs.

You do some great work im 59 years old been doing this work since i was 18 . Keep it up love seeing young man working on old American cars . You do a great job explaining it as well I’ve even learned a thing are 3 from you . Also how wide and long do you make your jigs mine is a little wider then yours i like yours better so i was curious.

Thank you very much. Usually I will try and make my JIGs, if It is built for a certain model of the car where I am centered on the frame rails as best I can. Usually the JIG's come out to around 42 to 44 inches centered on the I beams.

Love that lift. Perfect for lower ceilings

Yes I am really happy with how the lift works in a shop like mine and would recommend it.

@@carthageclassiccars thanks for the input. I was looking at 2 or 4 post but would need taller ceilings for those.

@@UnconventionalMetalThere is one 2 post lift that is for low ceilings that I saw if you check out Paint society under his videos he installed a low ceiling 2 post lift. But if you want something mobile this one works great.

Hey Rick. I ordered my 4x4 steel beams for the cuda job. Is there an ideal width to set the beams? Also, do you prefer the trailer jacks or the leveling bolts?
@carthageclassiccars
@carthageclassiccars 10 ай бұрын
I would say if you can get them for the most part under as much of the frame rails as you can. Especially the areas that will need to be replaced With my JIGs they are either 42" or 43 " center of the beam to center of the beam wide. Also 100% on using the weight Jack bolts that I have listed in my JIG building video. The Trailer jacks stick up too high into the frame table area so you really need to work the car around them and gets to be a hassle.

I'm looking forward to see the challenger front clip Repaired. Will you be using new parts to repair the front clip Or a clip from a donor car. I am working on a duster (A) body I have to use a donor clip no front frame rails available new
@carthageclassiccars
@carthageclassiccars Жыл бұрын
We are using New parts for the challenger clip. Basically I am using the K member and getting it straight off the Cuda already on the JIG. I am going to build the front end off a camber caster gauge and get our alignment numbers where we want them at the owners ride height all off the JIG it goes on. We are still hunting down a few parts for the front end with the current supply chain issue but it will be done hopefully sooner then later. I will explain in the next video the plan of attack.

Great can't wait, I think I will build will build my chassie jig off of my 1968 barracuda. And hopefully I could use that to set my 1971 340 duster On to replace the front clip

That sounds like a good plan. When I do the front end of the Challenger it should be very similar in the process to your project
