I love all the information u put into the video Chad my friend.. I bought 10 packs of 300mm drawer slides but they cost me 110 euros on Amazon. I should've got the 400mm ones but I really bought them for units in my shop with about 320-330mm depth. I will build wider than normal drawers so I can fit a lot of my longer tools in them. I've never built a proper piece of furniture like u have in this video an I want to say how beautiful it looks. U can tell u have all those years worth of experience. I've only really begun my journey at 50 years of age.. haha! I never knew how good it was to work with wood until I rebuilt doors in my house. When I say rebuilt I mean small parts that had been damaged and I wasn't spending a small fortune on new doors. The doors and Jams, etc can cost a lot of money when it's all said and done. I got new ones for downstairs but I began woodworking by fixing the old doors upstairs. Who knew I would develop a real passion for woodworking at that point n my life. TBH I haven't been able to spend lots of time in my small shop but now I'm spending time learning how to use hand tools like Saws of all types, hand planes and chisels. The worst part of it for me is sharpening them blades and chisels. Man it takes a fair bit of work. I'm starting to spend time with the hand planes and learning a fair bit about positioning of the bade and how to get the best shavings. I'm still struggling a bit getting really thin shavings but I'm not too far away. I'm still trying to work out how tight the frog device needs to be so it doesn't hinder the use of the little round brass knurled knob which allows u to bring the blade in or out. I don't even know the name of it but I think u get what I mean.. Apologies for such a long comment Chad but I have really enjoyed watching ur videos. THE ONE WITH THE SPANISH DUDE WAS FUNNY AS HECK TOO BTW. LOL. Keep the great content coming mate. Salute to u from Dublin, IRE.

Thanks for the video. I don't install many drawer glides. For better or worse I decided to use them on two small chests I am building for my wife's sewing room, there are six drawers total. I remembered you had posted a drawer glide video so I watched it again this morning. I really appreciate you taking the time to continue to post videos on KZbin. If you ever travel through Dallas and your schedule allows time for a BBQ let me know a couple days in advance and I will smoke a brisket and cook a batch of Charlie's Not So Famous Baked Beans.

I don't remember who advised.. 'Don't measure if you don't need to'. Maybe you from a past video 😁. I use story sticks as much as possible for drawers and other applications. I have a bucket of window/door plastic shims of set thickness from 1.5mm up to 6mm, which means I can get consistent gaps. I don't know how many slides I have installed and never thought about the 'Tabs' that give you some tolerance adjustment. So thanks for that. Are you still coming to visit your sister this year?

Interesting technique, Chad. Is there a recommended placement of drawer slides on the side of the drawer (toward the top, near the bottom, or near the middle)? Or doesn't it really matter? Bill

That's actually a great question. I will see my mentor Dennis Laney tomorrow and ask him. My thoughts are it doesn't matter, but I will ask someone with 60 years of experience 😁

I'd keep them up a little, since drawer bottoms are typically dadoed in and that groove will weaken the sides down there.
