Heading out later today hopefully to purchase one of these. It says field ready, any common problem areas to look out for, if any of you guys might know. My Daddy had one we fished out of a field that had three inch diameter trees growing up between the rear tires and seat. I remember us cutting it out of the bushes with an axe. I got on it (at 10 years old) lol and he pulled me home with a chain hooked to his pickup about three miles away. He said I'll have this ole girl running before nightfall. He actually had it running by lunch time after tinkering with it most of the morning. Sorry for the rant, your video brought back some great memories. This cub is in the same part of the State that we sold it in around 1976, it would be something if it's the same tractor. Hopefully I can trace it back to my 2nd cousin that bought it, if this gentleman can remember who he bought it from, lol. Again thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.

That is such a great story. The one thing to really look for is if the engine block has been welded. The engine had a tendency to crack where the front end bolts up to the engine and they would leak antifreeze. Hope everything goes good and it’s the tractor your hoping it is.

Thanks for the help in understanding how the IH Cub cultivating system works. I’ve used Allis Chalmers G tractors for years, but was always curious how the other side does it. BTW - Observation from a farmer: When I saw that you were wearing sandals while messing with steel and cast-iron it made my toes curl! There’s a reason God created steel-toed boots!
