See my tread in Moustache section. 10,000kms between two bikes, still very happy with the bikes.

Samedi makes such quality and good looking ebikes and I would love to get this one for my wife. It's beautiful and so clean looking. The problem is I've yet to see a Samedi dealer here in the Toronto area which is surprising. Another great review and would love to see more 3rd person angle like on your last review. Always nice to see a different perspective.

The maker is Moustache. Samedi (French for Saturday) is just the model name.

@@justininfrance I meant to say Moustache. But thanks for the correction.

Yeah! Thanks for the suggestion about third person shots, I realize that was missed for this bike. I'll keep it in mind, even if I just set the camera on a pole or stump. Getting ready to go film another bike today, lots going on as Black Friday nears :)

You could talk to E2-Sports in montreal. I know they have trouble keeping stock because they are pretty much the only store importing some brands in Quebec and they are quite in demand. So they won't have it in stock but should be able to order one.

Great looking bike, has some commonalities to the Gazelle bikes. How accurate are those range estimates in the display and does it intelligently adjust to your current ride effort? Great rear light position. Thanks for taking it off the curb and showing some good first person footage!
@ElectricBikeReview3 жыл бұрын
Hey Electron Surfer, I do think that range updates dynamically as you exert more effort, increase tire pressure, coast down hills vs. going off road. It's pretty dynamic and I think it takes the last mile of riding into consideration. I have not fully range tested a bike with this particular Bosch motor, but they have a fancy calculator you can experiment with back at their site: www.bosch-ebike.com/us/service/range-assistant

I totally agree with you Braxton! The PowerTube can really disappear on some of these frames. I really appreciate how strong this one was, didn't feel any frame flex despite the deep wave step-thru design. Hope you're well!

Will be buying an ebike soon, and really appreciate your in-depth reviews. Quick question - what are the advantages of buying a Riese & Muller or Stromer, which cost 1.5x - 2x as much as many of these other ebikes? They appear to have the same batteries and drivetrains, but are they more reliable, more durable, require less service, etc.?
@MrFlamingawesome Жыл бұрын
Riese and mullers: they're built to order which increases price. They have options for additional batteries built into the frame for longer range, can be optioned with internal geared hubs like the enviolo or rohloff, both of which are really low maintenance with tremendous gear range, but really expensive drive trains. And they're German, German products are just expensive. Stromers: can be optioned with belt drives using either Sturmy Archer or pinion, both of which are low maintenance with good gear range. While stromers are hub driven, the torque is ridiculous. They have an acceleration profile that quick yet buttery smooth, unlike any other ebike on the market. The stromers have regenerative braking that can charge the battery while providing a strong brake, massively reducing break pad wear. Stromers have a security feature that's tracked over a cell connection, with a horn that automatically goes off, and the rear wheel locks up with the regenerative brake. All trackable on your phone with greater accuracy than any other security feature on the market. Summary, reise and muller are perfect for cargo and trail expeditions, stromers are perfect car replacements. Obviously you would need to test ride them first, but they're insanely good products, just at an insane price.

@@MrFlamingawesome Great comparison! A mechanic told me that most e-bikes are very expensive to service, because everything is jammed so tight, that it requires hours to fix. I bought a Swytch bike conversion kit because of its simplicity, but have been waiting 6.5 months for it … Once I get it, if my experience goes well, I’ll probably buy a true ebike.

I'm still waiting for my ebike to arrive. It's a superdelite hs though! Very long wait times on a lot of ebikes.

What about setting the spare battery on top of the rack and a separate carrier? And if I were a bag manufacture, I might design a battery bag if there aren't any already.

We are the same height if i remember from a previous Xroad review of yours. I'm 180cms. I found only the xroad2 open medium. Large frame would be available in 5 or 6 months or so. Should i choose the medium? Or should i wait (or choose some other brand)?

Hey great name, kinda short though... battery not gonna cut it for people who actually ride.
@ElectricBikeReview3 жыл бұрын
Lol, are you being sarcastic since the name is... Samedi 27 Xroad 2 Open :P at least this battery could be replaced with a PowerTube 625. I think I'd pay extra for the Xroad 3 that comes with the higher capacity pack and shares many of the same design elements and drive system.

3:34 How could they miss the opportunity to name this tread "DesignerStubble"?

Haha, that's a creative name. Maybe I'll start using it when I see tight but deep tread like this. I think my own bear style is designer stubble, with a dash of overgrown from time to time ;)

Yeah, there are a lot of similarities. This new Performance Line Cruise is an interesting blend of design and performance. I'm glad it uses a full sized narrow-wide chainring, and found it interesting to see the battery extension block here. Was there anything that impressed or surprised you about this particular model, Tom?
