Chocolate Cake Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
All purpose flour (1 3/4 cup or 210 grams)
Dark Cocoa powder (1/2 cup or 43 grams)
White sugar (1 1/2 cup or 300 grams)
Salt (1 tsp)
Baking powder (1 1/4 tsp)
Baking soda (1 tsp)
Wet Ingredients:
Melted butter (1/4 cup)
Oil (1/2 cup)
Butter milk (1 cup)= 1 cup milk + 1 tbsp vinegar
Vanilla (1 tbsp)
2 eggs
Hot water (1 cup)
Instant coffee (2 tsp)= 1 cup hot water + 2 tsp instant coffee
For chocolate ganache*:
Dark chocolate (16 oz or 2 cups)
Heavy whipping cream (8 oz or 1 cup)
Vanilla (1 tbsp)
Butter room temperature (2 tbsp)
For butter cream:
soft butter (1 cup or 226 grams)
Icing sugar (3 cups)
Dark cocoa powder (1/2 cup or 46 grams)
Vanilla (1 tbsp)
Heavy whipping cream (1/4 cup or 60 grams)
Ganache (1/2 cup) or melted chocolate*
*Melt 1/2 cup chocolate in the microwave
Add 1 cup ganache and 1/2 cup milk to make *loose ganache for decoration.
