I don't care for their watches but seeing their advertising, they are good at what they do. Being bought out may improve their quality (maybe slightly) but this shows what the average person is looking for, a nice looking piece in the $80 - $120 range. Other companies could learn from their advertising strategies.

If MVMT can hustle Movado, we'll be seeing MVMT watches distributed right along side Movado watches. I honestly don't understand how 16 to 24 year olds with internet can be so easily scammed. The younger people I know will research the hell out of everything they buy. It would be interesting to break down the 14 to 24 demographic further because that's one stupid group of people.

Seiko has the Seiko 5 series where most of the watches cost less than $100, look it up on amazon, can't miss it.

they are very real indeed, I do have one myself, with this beautiful olive dial, my first watch - I love it. you can easily find them on amazon, just type in seiko 5. if unsure, look up for any reviews - there are plenty

the problem that most people have with mvmt watches is that they're overly-priced. their watches' actual movements cost like 10 dollars, the materials come to half of that, yet they are being sold for 150-200 dollars. if you really love to travel, looking into some gmt watches might be a good idea - although they can get rather pricey. if you're in it just for the looks, just buy whatever you want to buy. im not a big fan of quartz, yet I still bough myself an accurist celestial just because im passionate about stars and just love that dial

Why did Movado buy them? Because they need the corner of the 'time piece' market that MVMNT has apparently mastered... I admire what MVMNT did, if not their actual products... And, now that Movado owns them, watch their product(s) improve. Would I own a MVMNT watch? Not right now... That said, the jury's out about the future. But, whether I ever buy one or not, I'm looking forward to what Movado's gonna do with them...

@&Ö& Paneristi I respect your opinion, Seiko Group owns a total of 7 watch brands, one of which is Pulsar that I'm not too keen on, none are Swiss...Movado Group owns , I believe, owns 10 watch brands and two are Swiss Luxury brands. Dont forget this is big business, and those cheap apple watches are taking a big bite of the market share. MVMT is small time but will ultimately bump up the group's presence.

MVMT is the worst watch brand in history. But they just happened to to have the best internet presence and advertising campaign of any watch brand. I'm sure this is what Movado is buying. It had better be because those watches aren't going to improve much. Not sure how Movado uses MVMT to capture more people into buying their watches. I think it's going to be something like use MVMT's connection with young buyers to gradually move them into Movado or jack the price of MVMT's up $30 because now they are part of the prestigious family of watches of "Modado"? Good luck with that move! All in all I think Movado was desperate to do something to bring "young" into their fold.
