Had my entry level Symbioz for over 6 wks now and love this SUV

I'm in the process of buying one. My opinion: The Symbioz is simply a Capture Estate (or combi). Feels the same, sits the same, the same space for the driver, drives the same. Stretched, mainly for a bigger boot. Definitely in the same segment as its brother Capur. They will be competing with each other just like the Clio and the Clio Estate: Bring the extra cash if you want more storage space. Great value for the money, this car.

I would have said the capture wasn't in the same size as the Kia or Nissan, The Kadjar would have been the size. This seems to come in between both for size , looks good, love the dash layout

I like it. Certainly considering it as the next car. By then there'll be the New Dacia Duster to consider as well. Another great review, looking forward to you trying the Duster

The Renault range are getting a bit samey looking to be honest like Vauxhall. I need to look at the badges to see which model it is. Nice rims on that model though. Good review Tish.

Nice car BUT what I can’t get my head around it’s a brand new car yet it has the old 5 year old interior and not the interior of new Renaults like the austral etc ? Why?

A come on now Tish. The Captur is not in the Same class as the Kia Sportage or Nisssn Qushqui. That was the Kadjar, but of course Renault moved its replacment the Austral up a class so now it's the Symbioz.

Top spec model has a pan roof with some fancy electronic shading, it is non opening and the shading replaces the blind.

140BHP for me puts this up against the niro sized engine outputs but in a crossover the size of a sportage/tuscon/quashqai, that to me would feel a bit under powered when the sportage and the tuscon ar 200+ bhp for hybrid and around 250+bhp for PHEV powertrains. But for me i think when you have the Austral available which is around the same size and offers a 200bhp hybrid option i think its going to lose out to its own stablemate!

It's smaller than the Tucson and Sportage , wouldn't say it's a direct competitor to those as they are more premium. It's got a lot of tech and good value if you can't afford the extra 10k for the Tucson and Sportage

I saw this car in a snow room recently. I like it except for the fact you cannot set the aircondition from the app or key fog. I think there is no head up display too.

The Captur is a B segment crossover and the Qashqai and Sportage are C segment, so not really pitted against each other, the Symbioz is also only B Segment.

Actually, no, I think the Simbioz is a C segment competitor. Otherwise, it would be competing with the Captur, and Renault would have two models in the same segment, which would make no sense.

@@sharonec5419 I think Renault are the only ones claiming C Segment, but in their own write up they state to compete with Honda CHR which is B segment, they then go on to say, they wanted something between C and B segment so created the Symbioz, so ideally I guess it sits between to two, which is no bad thing…

@@Cyclonus-wm8gfncap testing was changed in 2023 and became harder. Some rival cars will have 5 rating but on the older test so not necessarily better or safer

The 4 stars is because the platform is a bit "old"; what've changed are the standards qualification (few years ago this platform scores 5 stars so I guess we shouldn't worry too much)

The sportage is a significantly larger car, so much so that some people consider it to sit between this class of SUV and the class above. Also, you can have the sportage as a petrol, MHEV, HEV or PHEV. Also, facelift is due out soon too so... Ill stick eith the Sportage

Manufacturers are making fools of the public with this SUV craze. What is so special about this car. Why not buy a capture if you really want a Renault car with crap reliability! Sportage n Tucson are bigger cars and reliable!!!! Qashqai does not do 53 mpg on e power 40. 1.3 engines do 35/36 mpg. Way off claimed economy. Reviewers never state reliability or real world economy I wonder why?

I usually get between 48-51mpg from my Qashqai ePower on long journeys, including motorways and use of Sport mode.

Tucson and Sportage are nice cars but also need to spend another 10k on top of the Renault so the Symbioz is a good value option if you don't have that kind of money.

Shame the Espace wont come to the UK, I drove it in Italy and it was a pleasure. UK its clearly relegated last in Europe on so many things.
