HEY! Hopefully someone's watching this in 2021 like ME. I have a question-- if you dont have a pattern on photoshop to copy and paste, can you just place it from file on your computer? ... One more question---- is there a website that's good to get patterns from and work with them on Illustrator?! Thankss!!!

You can place an image and make it a pattern in Illustrator. I'm sure there are many places to get patterns but as a textile designer, I always make my own. You can buy them from places that sell stock images like Adobe Stock and I Stock Photo.
