The Russian model of planning to have everything near by apartment living and supermarkets at the bottom of large apartment areas probably has a lot to do with the winter months and making things easier and accessible for people when it gets cold and snowed in . . Good idea .

Move to Russia in 2023? Not in the present climate, what with drones raining down there and probably more to come. Interesting video, you covered many topics except the healthcare there. I have gotten the impression that it isn't that great compared to western standards. All systems have their problems, but since the topic is Russia, I'm curious. Also curious about the legal system in Russia. The destruction of the Nord stream was actually good for Russia in that they were relieved, by force majeure, of paying the high fines they incurred by not living up to their contractual obligations of gas flow to Europe. Also, they couldn't use energy to blackmail Europe anymore, because they (Europe) found other fuel sources, a win win I guess.
@TallTravels Жыл бұрын
Russia is a big country, the chance that a foreigner would be in the receiving end of a UA drone is tiny :) I was in a hospital briefly in Russia, not great but glad I had insurance and they sorted me out. The Nord stream attack was better for America for obvious reasons as well as Norway how have filled the supply hole with much more expensive gas.
@lenarae3845 Жыл бұрын
@@TallTravels Fair enough, aside from the present war going on, drones and possible partisan attacks, it seems that Russia has less crime in general, especially gun crime, opposed to the US. England seems safer to me because personal weapons, knives, guns, brass knuckles and mace are illegal to carry, not in the US though. It seems that one could live very well in Russia if they have western money. I agree that we have certain agendas forced on us and I'm personally sick of it too. Yes, the migrant thing is out of control in my country and the UK, most here would welcome protected border policies like Russia. Nord stream is open to conjecture, your comment makes sense, but I'd like to think that my country wasn't behind it, maybe not 😂And, glad they sorted you out and that you didn't have anything as serious as a brain aneurism when you were there.

@@lenarae3845 England is nowhere near as safe as Russia. You can't go out at night to any district in London and feel safe. You can't even go out in the day to some of them and still feel safe. Best make sure you're not wearing a hoodie or the wrong clothes by mistake. Plenty of smaller towns as well particularly in the north-east where people are unemployed and you don't really want to hang around too much. Absolutely nothing like that in Russia. Cities are buzzing with life at night as during the day but there's not a sign of danger to be found. About the healthcare system, it's quite good as the doctors are quite good and highly educated. The facilities themselves are a mixed bag. Some are badly out of date, but some are brand new. The NHS in theory is quite decent but the waiting times have gone out of control. You can't just "move" to Russia that easily. This isn't Vietnam that western geezers can visa run themselves into. One tough experience at Moscow immigration or Russian police asking questions will have them sing Slava Ukraini for the rest of their lives. Jobs are scarce, ease of doing business is non existent, business opportunities itself are scarce now. Plus you need connections. All you can do is visit. The first visit is advised to be true and just tourist, or be prepared for hell. For consequent visits, you can get a Russian business visa that only allows 90 out of 180 days best case. For any longer stay, see above. The only people who have easy time with Russian immigration are -- Indian and Chinese repeat visitors, people from slavic/cis countries, and western folks with long term visas and repeat visits. Everyone else is under a tough scanner, whether you realize it or not.
@TallTravels Жыл бұрын
It's not easy to move to many countries, but where there's a will there's a way. Americans are living in Russia with just tourist visas. If you plan on being in the country long term then are are options like marrying a Russian woman, getting a student visa to learn Russian getting a business visa etc. Most people who have jobs in Russia these days are teachers, Russia always needs English teachers. And working online is a good option. Yes if someone wants it "easy" then they can move to somewhere like Georgia which has 365 day tourist visas, but when you get there you soon understand why 😂
@herefobeer Жыл бұрын
@@TallTravels I did want to visit Georgia, unfortunately they have a blanket racist policy of turning back just about every Indian tourist even with valid offline visa so I avoid lol Student visa might be easiest way (if actually studying, Russian schools have attendance requirement -- the first 3 months of visa is not multiple entry and only school can extend it to multiple entry long term version. So if you don't attend classes or fail, goodbye). Business visa is still only 90/180. I think going forward the "easier" way for western people will be getting a cheap TRP from Belarus and wait for that mutual visa agreement to fall into place. It's a good time to get that TRP now because pretty sure they will tighten that up.
@TallTravels Жыл бұрын
Probably not to do with racism, but immigration issues. Indians didn't need a visa for Serbia until recently, but then Brussels bullied Serbia into revoking the visa-free agreement, because Indians were using Serbia as a stepping stone to illegally entering the EU. Apparently with the student visa there are ways around attendance issues💰. I know some one who get's a business visa for 90/180 then when the 90 days are up, he applies for another visa and gets it. I thought the "cheap dacha workaround" in Belarus is not working anymore, no more $500 glorified sheds in the village 😁. I would very much doubt someone will be able to do that in Belarus then get residency rights in Russia, if they did there would be no properties left to buy in Belarus 🤣
@herefobeer Жыл бұрын
@@TallTravels Not $500 sheds anymore. Belarus expects livable accommodation now. Expect to spend $10-15K on a village house plus other fee. Definitely not cheap, but cheaper than getting a Russian wife lol.
