AOMEI is amazing. 6 yrs ago, I used the most famous backup program Acronis and ran into issues even after using all the "addons" that they have. Hi! Sorry for my english, Portuguese Brazil From what I saw in other software from another company, there would be a need to put the drivers, corresponding to the chipset, hdd. . . of the target device, on a USB stick and when restoring the backup of the source device, use the universal restore, selecting the drivers corresponding to the target device to complement the installation. As I understand it, Aomei Backupper would do this automatically, as long as the restore universal option is selected. Is my line of thought correct? Thanks!

After restoring Windows to a computer with dissimilar hardware completely, you may need to reactivate Windows and other software. Some drivers, like video/sound card drivers, display drivers, NIC drivers, etc, are not installed by AOMEI Universal Restore. As these drivers will not affect system startup, you can install them manually after restoring them successfully.

My new PC has an M.2 SSD but AOMEI is not detecting it as an option. It can only detect the USB drive on which I have the bootable app and the external hard drive in which I have the disk image that I want to transfer to the M.2. So, I can't restore the image because the destination is not an option. Why isn't the drive showing up? Is it because there's an existing install of Windows 11 on that drive? I want to overwrite that install.

Please check if your disk is 4096 bytes/sector. You can press Win+R, type “msinfo32” in the Run box, then open Components--> Storage-->Disks-->check the Bytes/sector of the drive. AOMEI Backupper currently can't list 4096 disk.

What if my new computer (which I want to move my old operating system to) doesn't have an operating system and cannot boot to restore the backed-up operating system (I mean how to restore but not under windows, only via dos) ?

You should choose disk back, system backup will only backup your system and system-related files, not all files.

I am confused in the 2nd step 3:12. Do I have to create the bootable media of my new computer ( to which I want to move the old computer OS ) or I have to create the bootable media of my old computer ( which I want to move to new computer ).

Hi brother. will this function support Windows NT? My CNC Machine crashed, now I cloned HDD from a different machine to it, and it's not bootable now as similar hardware problem. It's using Windows NT.

Sorry dear, it does not support NT version. By far, it supports Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8/8.1, 10, 11, Server 2003(R2), 2008(R2), Home Server 2011, Small Business Server 2011, Server 2012(R2), 2016, 2019, 2011.

Here my case, i want to upgrade my mobo. Everything i have is in ssd on old mobo. 1. I will backup the system to ssd and make bootable device on that ssd too?. 2. Ill bot my new mobo with that ssd,and ill instal the windows first from previous ssd? Then restart> open bios and boot that ssd which i back up? The point is can i instal win10 and back up with one ssd?

Hi dear, 1. You should make a bootable disk on another disk. Not on the same disk. 2. Boot from the bootable disk and open AOMEI Backupper choose Restore to restore your system, after than restart and change boot order.

@AOMEI okey, now i have flashdisk. All i want just change the mobo. 1. I make a bootable media in flashdisk 2. I change the mobo, and move my ssd on the old mobo to the new mobo. All i need is just moving my one n only ssd to the new mobo. So, i dont need to back up the whole ssd bcoz i just move my ssd to the new mobo. Instead of restore, im just gonna change boot sequence in bios? Or wht im understand in this video is need min. 3 drive : 1 flashdsk, 1 externl ssd, 1 fresh ssd in new mobo already?

Did this, there was no universal checkbox, i continued anyways, now when booting the PC after moving the partition it starts repairing but it never ends

Same here! I see no check box for Universal Restore, which is why I bought the Professional version, for that functionality. Did you ever figure it out yourself?

There was no universal restore when I used aomei pro.
