1 draw, 2 draw, 2 blow or inhale on any hole, slide down one adjacent note while inhaling, then slide unto the starting hole and blow. You can do this backwards forwards for a total of 6 permutations. Also try bending the starting hole (featured in video) or bending others. THEN you can take both patterns (bending and not) up and down the harp by simply starting on another hole and using the same breathing and shape pattern! Their are hundreds of combinations and this is only the tip of the ice berg. Part Two coming soon. Donations are appreciated but never expected and can be made via paypal to the email address: jasonricci1@gmail.com. Also if you would like to show continued support through Patreon you can visit me at www.patreon.co... and also come check out my band and music at www.mooncat.org

Excellent lesson on movable licks .. been using that technique for years, & this is the first time I've seen the concept taught .. Keep up the fine work Jason! 👍🎶😎

You did about people saying not A triplet if it's the same note. You can play the same note 3 times still a triplet. I'm loving your videos by the way.

For those who insist on melodic triplets, one can always bend the 2D in 3D-2D-3B, creating yet another moveable lick. Like you said, innumerable permutations. Of course, single note, purely rhythmic triplets are also fun...though not really what you'd call a lick per se. Another great video; I've now watched it several times, and each time, it makes me better. Thanks as always.

I'd learned the draw, draw blow ascending pattern from a Skype Lesson with Ronnie Shellist some years ago but never found a use for it. Recently, for no particular reason, I got my arse into gear and learned the pattern in reverse (descending). It was a good thing I did because I've recently joined a front porch band that has a gig upcoming at the local market and I'm having to play songs that the usual Blues scale and root notes just don't seem to fit so I've been a bit lost i.e. with songs like Budapest by George Ezra. I started plugging in and chaining together licks from breathing pattern triplets and all of a sudden discovered a new level of dexterity and adaptability with unfamiliar song modes and genres. One simple trick eh? Works great!

Was nice seeing u at the Green Parrot in Key West last month. Could only make the "soundcheck" show since I actually live in Big Pine Key, 30 miles away. Re the vid, always so generous, always such excellent playing. Always wishing u the best, I am, Ron Baumann (posting on my wife's KZbin acct.)

These licks are a blast to play ! I love the underlying rhythm sense to all the licks that you learn in this video. It also trains you to focus on timing as well as speed playing. ( not that one has to play fast to be good)

Thank you, Jason for this useful lesson! But I've really liked a song in the beginning of the video and can't find it. I found out that it is called "From the soul", but it is slower version than this. Shazam doesn't solve my problem. Help me please:)
