When buying a house I look for whether it's been maintained and well cared for. Have the roof tiles been regularly checked and any broken ones replaced, are the gutters clean, do chimneys look in good order and, inside, do the carpets look clean and is the painting carefully done. Has the boiler been regularly serviced and fences mended etc. I don't care if the decoration isn't to my taste, or if it's been done by a professional or not, so long as someone has taken care over it and not rushed or bodged the job. That way, I know I will be moving into a liveable house where everything is in working order and I can just get on with changing what I would like to change.

These are good tips e.g. getting rid of over-personalised decor- it makes it very hard for the buyer to imagine themselves living in the house. Thanks as always!

Grey is a pretty neutral colour...dark colours can make rooms seem small. so if its a dark grey maybe add some lamps to light up the room - you can do a lot with lighting. Good luck

My pet peeves are the buyer has all the info but will moan that this flat doesn’t what they want when it never said it had. My flat does not have a lift , I live on the third floor. 98% of the feedback moan about this .
