“Gloria Patri” is the last movement of Rutter’s 𝑴𝒂𝒈𝒏𝒊𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕. Gloria Patri is a Latin doxology that translates to "Glory be to the Father". Rutter's composition is a celebratory work that evokes outdoor processions to honor the Virgin Mary. The doxology is interrupted by a prayer to Mary, "Sancta Maria", which asks for support for humanity. In this work as well as in most of Rutter’s movements, the jubilant celebrations of Mary are predominant.
