One thing no one mentions is how impressive it that he is able to switch facing front and back! When facing the front he starts on the right leg but when he faces the group he has to do it on the left, and for those who don't know it can be incredibly difficult to switch at the drop of a hat!!
@MovewithColour3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Kimberley. Mirroring is a really important part of the experience for me, but it’s just as useful as performing it on the participant leg. Why not do both? 😎

As a former unofficial choreographer and proud member of the "Old School Master Class," I would like to say thank you for giving credit where credit was due. One thing I have noticed through the years is some of the old school dance moves resurfacing, given a different name and taking credit for invention. Back in my day, I was completely self taught with a little help from MTV and VH1. By the time I turned 18 years old, I had already choreographed weddings, birthday parties, high school pep rallies, high school graduation parties, cookouts, and club parties. It was all unpaid and simply for the satisfaction and self gratification of teaching, my MOTO....Teaching boards how to bend. I have accidentally/purposely conducted a dance club dance off and teaching session one night at a local dance club. The craft of dancing is something I still hold dear to my heart and soul. And I highly respect anyone teaching it, like yourself, as long as like you did, give credit where credit is due. Good job and thank you!!

I guess this must be for definite Non-Dancers. Being an actual dancer myself, when the words "Master Class" are thrown out, it means don't do this unless you have perfected beginners, intermediary and professional. The moves are cute for beginners and you guys did a great job.
@MovewithColour5 жыл бұрын
Hey Nicci. These videos are definitely geared towards beginners to be able to dip their toe into a dance class. It's interesting how you associate 'masterclass' with the idea of 'a class that masters participate in' as opposed to a grand way of referring to an instructional experience taught by someone who's very good at teaching. Good point though!
@silky04395 жыл бұрын
Move with Colour thank you for your response. It Is funny what the same phrase can mean something completely different to separate people. I do like the concept however. Regular people can feel as if they are performing and/or learning like professionals. Now that I'm in my 60's, I teach my classes that way. My students use the mirror as their audience and try to look as professional as possible. I remind them that they are performing for themselves. Make your movements look as easy as possible. That's how you know you're improving. It's so nice to see this type of class in this venue. 👍🏾👍🏾
