In my personal opinion. Star Wars got worse, Toy Story is in the middle, Shrek is in the middle, Cars is in the middle, Pirates of the Caribbean got worse, Despicable Me got worse, and Transformers is in the middle. Haven’t seen any Harry Potter, mission impossible, lord of the rings and most MCU movies so I can’t really say much for those franchises

I also think toy story 2 is better than the original. It makes woody more likable. We also see more of the side characters such as slinky and rex in this film seen as they were sidelined in the first film and also stinky pete is a better villain with a more interesting motive.

I think the sonic movies are great examples as well. Sonic 1 was an OK movie but was really just a movie featuring sonic, Sonic 2 was a massive upgrade adding a bunch of things from the games and Tail and Knuckles, and from what I saw in the trailer for Sonic 3 it is definitely going to be the best in the franchise.

X-men gets worse over time in an inconsistent way. We go from X-Men and X2 to X-men: Origins: Wolverine, and then we go from First Class, Days of Future Past, and Logan to Dark Phoenix and New Mutants.

I think Shrek Forever is a great movie and an underrated gem. I am upset how it gets overlooked and overshadowed by 3 and both just get clubbed together and not viewed separately. I see this with a lot of movies and shows. Future sequels or seasons do improve over weaker sequels or seasons but they are clubed together because they carry forward some flaws. Transformers is the perfect example of movies that get worse and worse. The reboot Planet of Apes franchise is great but I feel like Rise gets very overlooked. I personally think it is the 2nd best of the franchise. "Its just a fine movie and weakest of the franchise 😢" kind of touched a nerve bro. Because the character progression and arc between Caesar and Will was amazing. I personally think Jurassic World is amazing, Fallen Kingdom is underrated and Dominion was disappointing but its decent and overhated. Both Shrek 4 and Rise are 9/10 for me. Fallen Kingdom is 8/10. Dominion is 7.5/10 I am cautiously optimistic for Jurassic World: Rebirth and Shrek 5. The plot details of Rebirth have been disappointing and also very worrying.

I think Jurassic Park had more than enough material from the two books to form a trilogy of movies. the second or third film should have been on Nublar in order to finish that park’s demise with the death of that island, with Isla Sorna and the rest of the Lost World being told in the other film.

I completely agree with you on the Harry Potter films in terms of the ranking. Plus, in my humble opinion, Prisoner of Azkaban is probably the best in the series, because it’s not really a Voldemort driven story compared to the other films. Sure he’s mentioned a bunch, but it chooses to more so focus on the relationship between Harry and Sirius. And it fits well with the story. Sirius ended up trusting the wrong person with the information about Harry’s parents, and as a result, he was locked up for 12 years in Azkaban. Then he escaped to be with him, and Harry found out he wasn’t the person everyone was making him out to be. He was just his godfather that really cared about him. But he was living the rest of his life as a fugitive, due to a rat’s bulls**t actions!

Phantom Menace and ROTS were goated. It's just as good as ESB and ANH. It's way above decent. Just the cringe love scenes from attack of the clones ruin the perfection of the prequel trilogy. As for the sequel trilogy, the force awakens was good but only because they rehashed a new hope. The other 2 movies........we don't talk about it.
