Movie Gems - Prop Edition | Anduril the Flame of the West (*NEW* Museum Collection version)

United Cutlery has finally released its NEW Museum Collection version of Aragorn's sword Anduril from the Lord of the Rings movies. I've been waiting more than two years since I pre-ordered it but it has finally arrived. So I thought I'd share it with you including a comparison to the original UC release of this sword. I highly recommend some Metalglo polish to help clean the blade from the shipping oils. It's a very beautiful piece and worthy upgrade, IMO.

Wow that looks beautiful, I'm definitely thinking of picking one up when it's back in stock! A couple of questions if you don't mind: 1. For the scabbard, is it tight enough that it will stay on without falling off the MC version if you're holding the sword by the hilt and have it pointed downwards? 2. This will be my first time buying a replica sword, and you mentioned that the MC version needs some special care. Do you have any recommendations for other items that I should also purchase to care for the sword? Thank you!

Great questions: The scabbard will not stay on by itself in a vertical display. The sword slides easily in the scabbard. Ive seen others hang the scabbard next to the sword vertically. I have mine on an angle so the sword rests in the scabbard but I can extend the blade a bit to show it off. It was recommended by Peter Lyon, the one who originally created the swords for the Lord of the Rings films. He said he preferred it because it didn't gunk up the scabbards with oil.
