The casting was perfect. And they worked so naturally together. Pesci amazing actor and very funny, Tomei very sexy and awesome actor (won academy award) and Maccio has got that innocent all American Italian look, Gwynne so believable as a judge and natural comedic timing.

Humor may be subjective, but quality of laughs, and laughs per minute, this movie is unmatched! Hands down the FUNNIEST movie I’ve ever seen and the jokes haven’t aged and don’t diminish with repeated viewings, and that’s what makes it a timeless classic!

My mom showed my siblings and I this movie when we were kids, she didn't care about the cursing but I'm pretty sure she totally forgot about this scene before she decided it was good for movie night. Luckily the joke is subtle enough that it flew RIGHT over all our heads. We watched it again as a family about a decade later and my siblings and I were in TEARS at this scene. Just brilliant writing

Forgot about this scene, and love it. Reminds me of the old sitcom Three’s Company, where every other gag is a “misunderstanding” or some play on words that extends the joke. It’s done beautifully here, just enough nuance to laugh even though you know the underlying premise.
