But you have to admit it was not a supporting it was the second lead to Joe Pesci
@musicaltheatergeek795 жыл бұрын
*Richard Cleveland* it is very much a supporting role. She's absent for parts of the film whereas Vinny remains the central focus throughout. Thus, he is the main character. Not every film has a male/female lead; sometimes a movie has just one lead. Some people consider Mona Lisa the 'female lead' in this movie because she is the female character with the most screen time and significance. But the movie is very Vinny-centric. In the end, he wins his case with her SUPPORT. Her entire role in the film is to SUPPORT Vinny in every which way.

I'm pretty sure that Meg Ryan had left right before Marisa Tomei came along as Marci. If they were on the show at the same time, it wasn't very long. On the other hand, Marci's best friend was Franny Hughes, played by another Oscar winner, Julianne Moore. So there's that.

I would say she earned it, the cast of Lisa was immaculate. She had the right emotions to the feedback she got, Vinny was sort of stressed out and out of his depths, but Lisa did love him but she wanted a good man that could provide and give her a baby, something she herself wanted in the movie. Sort of self obsessed with a goal, she wanted a man with a steady income (something he could at least do) so she could have children, or maybe just a single child, whatever what Lisa wanted. And she played Lisa like a fucking god. What you notice during the film that there is very little foreshadowing of her acumen into automotives, except like minor things but also told us that she knew what she was talking about, but nothing that gave her away as an expert. She was also 100% human, she was believable very much so, and for that reason i think she absolutely deserved this award!
