There was some slight realism about the fall tho. When people sky dive they were backpacks with the parachute and it makes their bodies lay kinda flat or stay still instead of flipping around in the air. Well that's one way to cut away months of traveling through Arne sacknusems tunnels to the centre of the earth...you make his tunnels that lidenbrock followed into one big tunnel located somewhere in my snuffles. Obviously they took a different route that the one sacknessum, lindenbrook and shawns father did....the origional pathway might have been the other tunnel they didn't take, the one next to the one that lead to the mine perhaps

No your not wrong. I did the math too and got a distance of 45.5 kilometers so you we are pretty close. But whats crazier is the fact that when they broke there fall their peak velocity was 2104mph and that's insane considering that that is 2.7 times faster than the speed of sound. So yeah I was willing to suspend my disbelief a bit but fall into a pool of water at mach 2 and surviving is a bit to far fetched for my taste unless your Captain America:P

Just for the heck of it, I did some calculations on how far they fell. At the moment that Trevor says "We're still falling!", they has fallen about 3600 feet. Then, if the time from them starting to fall to the water slide was accurate, they would have fallen 27 miles. But, since the clip probably didn't show all the time they were actually falling, I'm guessing they probably fell well over 30 miles, which definitely would've taken them into the mantle. I doubt they literally went to the center of the earth, aka the core. I think the place they went is more like the Hollow Earth concept from the Monsterverse
