@@God-mb8wi Their own musical numbers were great and they do several of them in this picture. I think he means those corny numbers involving crowds of extras, the romantic supporting couple and sappy Hollywood music. Their later films have them (but also Cocoanuts).

I've watched this movie in a cinema and there was so much laughter that you missed half the jokes. Luckily, I know all the dialogue by heart... Amazing difference watching these old comedies in a crowd instead of alone on a small screen. They are really meant to be a group activity.
