For everyone saying that's a suspiciously modern looking wheelchair. I took the trouble to look it up. It's a pretty good representation of a wheel chair from around the 1870s. Radial spokes, similar to small wagon wheels, and with a metal ring for the hands to propel it. Big wheels at the front and castor wheel(s) at the back. Whether the character could have bought one out there in the old west is another question, but it's reasonably accurate for period.
