the tricky thing about him is that he's really bright in the movie. He's planned his way steps ahead, basically pinned her once he knew how their position was. And the flipped double head coin. I can't say she fell in love with him here, but she certainly became impressed by his charming ways. That's how he got into her heart throughout the movie.

Actually I think he fell in love with her the moment he first saw her. That's why he actively seeked her out and volunteered to buy her the dress. Her rejection at his offer probably made his feelings stronger and when he saw her again at the high roller table he did everything he could to keep her in his life. John's efforts for Diana by the end of the movie were too sincere for it to be mere lust or just a bet. This man loved her, maybe even more than her husband did at a point. I love this movie. There are so many nuances to the 3 main characters especially John.

Everything about it is sickening, nothing about this movie is romantic, it's just based on greed, betrayal and lies.. the end is even more sick, where Redfern let's her go, and THEN she decides to go back to her husband, didn't even fight for the marriage before she caused a massive rift in it either... We are living in an era where peoples moral compass is broken, ppl hail these types of messages, they are designed to weaken ppls convictions, and follow Hollywood's standards, a generation that has become self centered and full of greed and out for personal gain, not even considering the damages they do to others, friends, family, partners and so forth...
