FILM DESCRIPTION:
Since the death of his pregnant wife in a Haitian earthquake 12 years ago, Victor Fielding (Tony winner and Oscar® nominee Leslie Odom, Jr.; One Night in Miami, Hamilton) has raised their daughter, Angela (Lidya Jewett, Good Girls) on his own. But when Angela and her friend Katherine (newcomer Olivia Marcum), disappear in the woods, only to return three days later with no memory of what happened to them, it unleashes a chain of events that will force Victor to confront the nadir of evil and, in his terror and desperation, seek out the only person alive who has witnessed anything like it before: Chris MacNeil.

That is a parent's worst nightmare right there. Unfortunately, this movie wasn't all that good. And I struggle to believe it was directed by David Gordon Green who gave us Halloween 2018.

Had they stuck to more of theme of the first hour, this movie could have been a classic, but they let the mythology overtake the reality or sanity of the first half.

It was awful. I watched it and liked most of the first hour and hated the exorcisms. The part about the patriarchy was poorly done even.

Than you haven't seen many at all, or you are class-bereft. Think The Possession of Hannah Grace, Nefarious, The Conjuring, The Devil inside, Medium, Ouija, Paranormal activity... these are just off the top of my head, far far worse written then this and not even scary.
