The fact the Demon in this Movie had actual Lore tied to him from back in the Spanish Inquisition was what made it golden for me. I love lore like that. Gives the Demon a Sense of Ancientness, aswell as danger.

The movie was good. I have read Amorth's books. There is certainly some Hollywood in this film but it is well done. Give the books a read and you may appreciate this movie a little more

@@jonharrison9222 --I personally know of a priest who lived in Rome at the time that Fr Amorth's predecessor, Fr Carmino, did. So contrary to your skepticism, there is a rite for exorcism with training to go along with it.

Whether or not you choose to believe is up to you. Anyway, the film was not that great - exorcists of Catholic Church would tell you that is not usually as evil entities manifest themselves and SPOILER an exorcist, who fights for the good, would never accept to deal with the devil to have somebody freed. Anyway, at least Franco Nero - the Pope - still shows talent, although he plays only for a few minutes.

@@jchea1764 - i saw it at the theater...and again since i bought the bluray...dont listen to haters of the film...clearly it is not like the original Exorcist and it is not trying to be like the original Exorcist....Russell Crowe is great and there are some moments of humor. I enjoyed it enough to buy the bluray. The movie leaves room for a possible sequel...i hope so. 😎
