The whip scene was so boss. It felt so much like a final boss moment. Becks was already worn out from single handedly taking out a whole damn squad and now he's faced with 3 guys with whips that are ready to triple team him and if he gets hit full force 4 maybe 6 times in the face then he's done for. Agility, durability as well as offense is crucial with every passing whip that whips by. Added to that, the blades that came out from the whip for close range attacks were pretty awesome and a nice touch. VERY well done scene. Also, the soundtrack behind that scene was pretty damn good. Made it feel even more like a dire situation.

The movie didn’t get the best reviews (comparing it to other Bond movies and Roger Moore’s campiness was getting old), but he’s always been on my top 5 list of Bond villains. One of the issues with this scene is how everyone waves The Gato around like it's made out of styrofoam. If The Gato is made from solid gold, then it would weigh as much or more than a bowling ball, 15-18 pounds.

As much as a bowling ball? 15-18 pounds? A standard gold bar weighs around 30 pounds. While the Gato appears to be slimmer than a gold bar, is also appears to be longer so I'd imagine it would weigh around the same. Regardless, I agree with your point that people shouldn't be able to carry it around as easily as they do throughout the movie.

bricks in this movie have really weird properties. Like when bullets don't pass through bricks. but the rock does. never the less... it's a good movie :) #0:45. it's great in terms of stunts, but, I don't care who you are, if you fly into a row of bricks 2by2 with mortar between them, you're gonna break. maybe the bricks too. but the human body... will just break. also that stunt with the flying in the the tree. it looks awesum. but any man would just break. break bones. break backbone. break organs. break neck. just plain break.
@ironcladnomad56392 жыл бұрын
I actually do appreciate your eye (anyone's, for that matter) for the real world consequences. I think those sorts of things are important to keep in mind, even if they're ultimately discarded from a film for "entertainment value". To offer a neutral counterpoint, I really appreciate how real they made it all look and feel. So much these days, and even back then, could've been created digitally for a sterile, weightless experience. I think it was Peter Jackson talking about miniatures who said a crumbling stone tower could absolutely be created digitally, but you wouldn't get the dust, the shrapnel, and the randomness of countless real world elements interacting. There's nothing actually realistic about any of these action scenes - the Rock would've been out for a while with a swollen, blooded face after that opening club fight - but the way they crafted it all makes it believable. I like to differentiate between what's "realistic" (it looks and feels like it actually happened) and "real" (it can or can't actually happen).
@axlslak2 жыл бұрын
@@ironcladnomad5639 I think this stunt was massively overshadowed by the one in one of the fast & furious movies when the rock keeps a helicopter in one hand, and himself and 3 cars in the other hand. I do appreciate an action movie, but I feel sometimes directors think they are doing cartoons not movies. Some are more exaggerated than Tom & Jerry or the Looney Toons. But whatever, I do not judge.
