Perseus (Sam Worthington) struggles to free Zeus (Liam Neeson) as Kronos awakens.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
The epic battle between the Titans and the gods continues in this sequel set ten years after the events in Clash of the Titans, as Perseus (Sam Worthington) descends into the underworld on a mission to rescue Zeus from the clutches of Hades (Ralph Fiennes), Ares (Edgar Ramirez), and Kronos. In the wake of his decisive victory against the Kraken, Perseus has retreated to a remote fishing village to raise his young son, Helius. Meanwhile, humanity has lost faith in the gods. As a result, Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon find their power beginning to slip, a development that could spell disaster for all of humankind should their imprisoned father, Kronos, manage to break free from his underworld prison in Tartarus. Well the original plan was to have a third movie titled “Revenge of The Titans”. Supposedly it would have focused on Perseus, Andromeda, Agenor and Helios tryingot bring order to Greece, and from some interviews it would have saw the return of Thetis (who was the quasi villain in the 80’s film), trying to start a new pantheon to rule. And if it was like Wrath of The Titans, it sounds like it would have been awesome.

This sequel really didn't deserve the merciless panning it got from the critics. It wasn't exactly a masterpiece, but it was more than decent by the Hollywood blockbuster standard. Action sequences were just fine, CGI was absolutely top notch (well, except the cyclops), and the story was very old school and sincere. The script revolved around repairing the bond between father and son, between brother and brother--something rare these days. In every way the sequel was at least as good as the first film, and in many ways better. So why the widespread critical dismissal? Maybe the modern media really do hate stories that focus on male bonding.

In Homer's works Ares was a wimp, he got a cut by some mortal and went back to Olympus over a small cut. The gods constantly mocked him. Meanwhile In the same works we see gods like Zeus and Poseidon fight with no equal and are never questioned. In one passage Poseidon mentions that he, Zeus, and Hades are all equal in power. Even in this "cannon" we clearly see how powerful Hades is in the last movie as he was living off peoples fear of death and not love nor prayers. He even attributes this to his ability to beat Zeus until Perc. joined in. I highly doubt in that short time all mortals stopped fearing death ( also Hades had all these cool powers in the old one, now he just has the bident and black dust).

I know there's at least a several months gap between comments on this kind of videos but I saw that everyone seemed to think Hades should be stronger than that. But remember what was said in the 1st movie. Hades would be weakened by the Kraken's summoning and then defeat so Perseus could go and kill him later. I mean... even if it's been years I guess that would still takes time for a god to recover his full might. And there is this "we don't believe in gods" thing. Yeah no prayers no powers no gods. They're ALL weakened except Ares because well... God of War and all of that. And what is currently happening in the two movies : WAR thus So Much Power for Ares. Oh and... Hades was like terrified. You know what fear can do to people's strength. At least, it's what I think for the "logic" in a blockburster movie made for money with astonishing visuals where you technically don't have to think much and just watch. Btw, loved the movie haha.
