I absolutely love the design of the Mondoshawans. They're somewhat grotesque and even goofy, but it makes them all the more imposing and indecipherable. Their costumes are detailed, but made of such simple shapes and color that it instantly makes them memorable. They're seen in full light, but since we have no idea what they look like under the armor (if there even *is* something under it), they remain mysterious. It's a perfect look for a race of mystical sentinels that dedicate their existence to protecting the universe.

@SaladinVadik2 жыл бұрын
@@MikiGo88 Wooo... The Alien body could be the central plot of the story. The Priest, along with Aziz and friends hide the body. The Young archeologist wakes up in the monastery of the Priest and vaguely remembers what happened, but is sure of the Alien. The Young archeologist looks for the priest but he is not in the monastery, to his surprise he could only find the Professor lounging with some tea, so the Young archeologist rushes out of the monastery to return to the site along with his associates (one of these associates is a servant of "the Evil".) Returning to the site, they find nothing, no trace of the alien presence, they sweep the place for any clue, the Young archeologist argues that he swears by what he say and that he is not crazy. All the while "the Evil" servant is looking at the wall that we know to be the Door, "the Evil" servant touches the wall, feeling it, probing it. The Priest returns, greets the Young Archeologist, and asks what is he doing back here, that he should rest for he has suffered from heat exhaustion and a mild concussion, the Priest apologizes to the associates that this is all a misunderstanding. The Young archeologist pleads with the Priest: he says: Father, you were here, you say it too, you've got to tell them. And so the associates start leaving, "the evil" servant is the last to leave. Apologies for the long reply. I get carried away with these things.

My opinion is the movie has a basic yet enjoyable premise. The vague plot gives it a lot of advantage in accomplishing some of the ridiculous and hilarious scenes. Even if the movie's story is vague, it still lends itself to interesting and thought-provoking themes. These vague themes give you a greater meaning behind the film while including plenty of hilarious scenes. Now that I think about it, I think that's what I like about Star Wars. It has a lot of vague themes and includes you in a world in such a candid manner, just as The Fifth Element does. You don't need to understand the details to understand the film.

What I want to know is where is the body of that thing? if that vault was sealed for 300 years when they open it up later shouldn't that thing still be in there?
@pollyanna80612 жыл бұрын
It should! But, then, again, here we go with the conspiracy theories; in 300 years, it's not time enough for human technology advance so much as it is shown in the story, if the same was passed in our reality, our dimension, as we know it. So, that leads to us to think that this story is passed in a parallel universe, with immense points in common with ours and the reality we live in, in this line of space-time. Maybe in that parallel dimension/Earth they did found the body of the alien, and because of that, technology had a tremendous evolution jump, to the point that humanity could already travel to another planets, have aerial citys, reconstruct living beings from dna samples, etc. That part is a very interesting exercise of creativity; in not shown us what happened to the alien body, if it was found or not, and if it was found, what could had happened, that leaves a lot to our imagination to think about. But, in time- that was a long time curiosity i always had about, too! I always asked myself what happened to that lost alien!

Anyone else also felt compelled to see The Fifth Element five times in the theater when it came out as I did ?

Only 3. Mostly because Milla reminded me of an old girlfriend.

Did the priest and those that followed him, remove the Mondoshawan carcass that was buried in the room? Because when Leeloo and gang arrived 300 years later, the trapped Mondo wasn't there anymore.

They tried to tie this universe in with Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets - the Mondoshawans where supposed to appear in the opening sequence and there does appear to be an alien race that resembles them show up. I guess that is the closest to a sequel as we will get. It's a pity as I believe there was a lot more to explore.

i really hoped valerian would tie up those two movies together. Valerian was also very fun movie to watch, but it could be so much more actually. IT could be super epic fifth element sequel-

@@divanosoba9658 unfortunately the 'Avatar' like sequences really put me off the Valerian film (despite it being good) -- i really hated ridley scotts Avatar movie

The father has the key. So he can help the Mondoshawan to go out :)

Amazing movie. Here is what I think happened here. The door closed on him just as we saw, but the Priest took the key and opened the door again to let the Mondoshawan out. The alien then returned to his ship leaving the priest with the key. The priest attended to Billy who knocked himself out when he fell down. When the ship powered up to leave, the priest ran outside like we saw, and the rest is history.

This is a great moment in movie history, make no mistake. Far be it from mankind.... to imagine that higher intelligence, could be a part of his own upbringing.

I don't know. Valerian felt really underwhelming. I wish it could've had the same energy as _The_ _Fifth_ _Element_ .

It has a basic yet enjoyable premise. The vague plot gives it a lot of advantage in accomplishing some of the ridiculous and hilarious scenes. Even if the movie's story is vague, it still lends itself to very interesting and thought-provoking themes.
