Even if Remus "could have" lied, that doesn't mean he did. And even if he did, that's for 7th year, so it doesn't mean James didn't improve more after leaving school. If Rowling intended Sirius and Remus's words to be false, she'd have shown Harry find out. Her own words condone their words, so no reason not to believe her words about James when it doesn't contradict the books. Regardless, at the very least yougn adult James is ambiguous and we don't know how much he changed.

Never really had a great life, came from a psycho family that he ran away from. His best friend who took him in, died in his early 20s. And Sirius got arrested right after that for being wrongly accused. Escaped and spent 2 years in hiding before dying. Was never able to find a woman and get family because he never had time. But he did at least get to spend a little time with Harry who he thought of as family.

Two young adults, barely out of school, barely out of their teens... It's heart-shattering. Lili and James are characters I hold very dear to my heart, but the casting didn't help to create a deeper emotional connection. You asume that two full grown adults will always put their children's safety first, but two 20 year olds? Even if they are responsible, mature and love their kid to death, I don't know, feels more... Relatable? Because I'm in my early 20s and I don't think I could give my life for a baby, lmao, so it really brings me to tears to look back at Lili and James' sacrifice. I wish they had casted younger looking actors.

I think if it wasn't for Lily sacrificing her life, Harry would've never destroyed Voldemort, and in the battle of hogwarts when he went to give his life, their presence gave him courage. the Potters are so brave and James, Lily, and harry are some of my favorite characters

I find it strange how in the last book it says that James didn’t have his wand and Voldemort instantly killed him, when in the first book when Harry faces Voldemort, he tells Harry “I killed you father first, and he put up a courageous fight.” So I thought that James and Voldemort had dueled until Voldemort overpowered him.

That is a fair point. I mean, imagine being bullied, harassed, and practically tormented for like 7 years straight (NOT TRYING JUSTIFY SNAPE'S ACTIONS OR BEHAVIORS AT ALL). And then never even getting so much as an "I'm sorry". Like, for Snape, it would take a hot minute for him to be able to fully forgive the marauders, and then again, he doesn't have to forgive them. Like just someone or some people caused you harm that's gonna stick around for a while apologize, doesn't automatically mean you gotta forgive them and be best buds. Anyways, in conclusion, Snape deserved a genuine apology from the marauders and Lily deserved a genuine apology from Snape. Also, I think it would've added a little bit more to James's maturity arc if he (at the very least) realized that what he and his friends did wasn't good and took it upon himself to apologize to Snape personally. But that's just what I think.
