Even if Remus "could have" lied, that doesn't mean he did. And even if he did, that's for 7th year, so it doesn't mean James didn't improve more after leaving school. If Rowling intended Sirius and Remus's words to be false, she'd have shown Harry find out. Her own words condone their words, so no reason not to believe her words about James when it doesn't contradict the books. Regardless, at the very least yougn adult James is ambiguous and we don't know how much he changed.

Never really had a great life, came from a psycho family that he ran away from. His best friend who took him in, died in his early 20s. And Sirius got arrested right after that for being wrongly accused. Escaped and spent 2 years in hiding before dying. Was never able to find a woman and get family because he never had time. But he did at least get to spend a little time with Harry who he thought of as family.

The fact that they casted actors who appeared to be in their 30s took away from the raw, plain devastating feeling I got when I read the books for the first time. Two young adults, barely out of school, barely out of their teens... It's heart-shattering. Lili and James are characters I hold very dear to my heart, but the casting didn't help to create a deeper emotional connection. You asume that two full grown adults will always put their children's safety first, but two 20 year olds? Even if they are responsible, mature and love their kid to death, I don't know, feels more... Relatable? Because I'm in my early 20s and I don't think I could give my life for a baby, lmao, so it really brings me to tears to look back at Lili and James' sacrifice. Lily if you think about it, it's the character with the most impact in the HP books. Her love and sacrifice was so great that it protected Harry for 17 years, even the blood she shared with her sister protected him basically. Also, the love Snape had for her was so powerful that he ended up being one of the most important pieces to defeat Voldemort and also protect Harry. Snape never stopped loving her one second and that is so beautiful Professor Slughorn also gave his memory in honor of Lily, he felt guilty for hear death and he always remembered her as one of his best students.

That is a fair point. I mean, imagine being bullied, harassed, and practically tormented for like 7 years straight (NOT TRYING JUSTIFY SNAPE'S ACTIONS OR BEHAVIORS AT ALL). And then never even getting so much as an "I'm sorry". Like, for Snape, it would take a hot minute for him to be able to fully forgive the marauders, and then again, he doesn't have to forgive them. Like just someone or some people caused you harm that's gonna stick around for a while apologize, doesn't automatically mean you gotta forgive them and be best buds. Anyways, in conclusion, Snape deserved a genuine apology from the marauders and Lily deserved a genuine apology from Snape. Also, I think it would've added a little bit more to James's maturity arc if he (at the very least) realized that what he and his friends did wasn't good and took it upon himself to apologize to Snape personally. But that's just what I think.

Jily - My most favourite fictional couple of all time ❤. The fact that Lily started dating James after calling him "arrogant bullying toerag" numerous times tells us how much he changed during his 6th and 7th year. So much so , that Dumbledore chose him Head Boy (without even being a prefect). I can only see why Lily started to like him when he actually deflated his head quite a bit in his last 2 years at hogwarts. Being fiercely loyal , brave and exceptionally clever and charming he was a natural leader without a doubt. Freaking turned himself into a fucking Animagus for his werewolf friend's sake. Also strictly hating Darks Arts , Voldemort and his pureblood prejudice and the ones who were practicing it , He became the one to set examples from the front (Bet he was the first one to join Order of Phoenix along with his friends as Dumbeldore must have confided in him early being Head Boy ). I love Lily and James's story. The Marauders was such a sad story but I loved the friendship between James, Sirius and Remus. James and Sirius were idiots back then (as a lot of teenage boys), but they weren't the monsters everyone obsesses over 😂. I don't think people realizes the fact that James got to keep a close group of friends till death, Remus (who is the best) love him a lot, Sirius thought of him as a brother and even Peter seem to like him (at some point dude went crazy for sure😂) Sirius and James grew up to be great people, friends, husband and godfather. They matured and were forced to grow so fast due to the war. Overall i think they're great people despite their mishaps as teneegers. I despite Snape's apologists 😂 always having an excuse to his terrible personality and life choices😂😂.
