I was ababsolutely obsessed with this show and even signed a petition to keep it on the air so that the series could be completed and not left on a cliffhanger, like so many other shows end up being. As with most shows, it lost its luster towards the end, but I highly enjoyed the ride. I recommend anyone to watch this show in its entirety if you like Sci-Fi and want to see something that was completed.

It never made sense to me that in movies or series like this where the alien has wiped out most of earth's original defenses, they struggle with splinter groups and eventually lose to a group of people when billions of soldiers around the planet couldn't do squat.

Aliens advanced enough to cross light-years to get here and sweep aside Earth's militaries in a day, yet they don't have IR or thermal and their foot soldiers (the Skitters) don't carry weapons. And, that's before you get to the absolute silliness of the later seasons.

what got me was, they have bombs that remove oxygen i think it said. why not just do that? they could of easily took most people out before even landing. wouldn't worry now though if it happened, didn't see them wearing masks and i know they have not had their jabs and 20 boosters lmao..

Gave up after the first season. Giant build up to the humans fighting back, promising huge battle. What did we get? Literally one RPG fired. This show sucked

You can get water and resources everywhere, you can get most of the stuff in our atmosphere everywhere, but life is special. So their reason to come to earth has to be life, and that needs oxygen. In general, better ways to fight humans would be biological weapons, or large area EMP-weapons, or even a computer virus, an attack on internet cables, an orbital attack with kinetic projectiles on dams and powerplants, maybe even nuclear attacks on important targets, or just push some mid sized asteroids into earth, a few hundred meters big, on important targets, or trigger a super vulcano, earthquakes, tsunamis, even triggering a climate change or blocking the sunlight would work, and the aliens could have done at least some of this things, but ground troops? That's not what you want against inferior enemies, combat on ground. Just look at vietnam. 🤷‍♂️

Falling Skies had flaws in places but the story - sets and actors did good with what they had. Just a shame the ending wasn't as good. But if you can look past a few flaws the series is worth a watch.

I used to watch it. I found it weird that in 1st season buttelts didn't do anything to aliens (which made firearms useless), only "special" ones developed later, but in next seasons it seemed like all firearms were deadly.

This sent me on a rabbit hole looking up Noah White, which lead me to “The Librarian” series, which lead me to Sonya Walger, which lead me to “Flash Forward” a completely underrated sci fi that was canceled due to low ratings after some strong opening weeks. Some of the cast have great careers now, so it’s funny they were considered the no names at the time.
