@@Mrgrumpypants84 they’re saying congratulations that she had this much determination, heart, grit, and just overall willingness to put the creep who did this to her away. she also went on to live her life, start a family when she thought she couldn’t because of that creep but she did, and she was able to overcome all of her fears that that creep instilled in her. maybe instead of being heartless in your comment you should read it more and understand it more before saying something like you just did.

Well the police were formed to protect property. And our prison system isn’t about justice or rehabilitation it’s about enslaving the disenfranchised to contract their labor to large corporate entities. And our government doesn’t care about the trauma so many women and children go through infact they create loopholes in the adoption system to be able to sell children and parade them on a runway with little to no questions asked selling them to strangers in a process called rehoming. This results in kids being trafficked and so many states are getting cases from prior foster kids about how they were trafficked in the system. But the government relies on the supply of traumatised low income women so they can produce more children that will either become middle class workers, low income wage workers, or imprisoned low income slaves. That’s why states are starting to have a higher sentence for abortion (in any circumstance) than rape meanwhile they lower or abolish the age for marriage to be below 18.
@Skewer-rat
@Skewer-rat 2 жыл бұрын
@@timetolive8828 in my human services class we had a presenter come in and talk about human trafficking. Their organization educates and also helps those who have been or are being trafficked. Anyways, the laws against trafficking are very outdated to say the least. Children under ten are working in tobacco farms for hours in the sun, causing who knows what irreversible damage, and it’s allowed because of agricultural lobbying. And underage people who have been trafficked can be charged with child prostitution in some places! The American system is so corrupt. As someone going into criminal psychology don’t even get me started on the prison system either!!

@@ladyazalea3710 I'm not trying to be mean, it's just amusing and deserving of a bit of banter. Appreciate your skepticism and no, I don't have proof but there's plenty of what we'd call circumstantial evidence in a court. Every single comment of this person looks like a synthesized version of fragments of common notions expressed by others before, and as someone else pointed out, with highly varying vocabulary, tone and grammar. All glued together awkwardly. It's like a pupil who didn't do their book summary/analysis assignment and cobbles something together by reading a bunch of Amazon reviews 5 minutes before class. It's never original and has no consistent personality. It's also reminiscent of what AI would produce, given this type of input. The sheer amount of comments on videos that are significantly longer than this one also makes one wonder where Ray finds the time to do any content creation himself. Sorry about the wall of text, but your concerns deserve a proper answer.

DNA evidence isn't always that easy to use. You need to argue against false positives, contamination, etc. And keep in mind the clothes were kept for 18 years (presumably in plastic bags). The other evidence is the name and drawing (but lots of people are named Dennis, and an 8-year old isn't the most reliable witness). That doesn't mean they don't have a case, maybe even a winnable case, but they definitely wanted the confession.

I know first hand the weight of being the only known surviving witness to a horrific sexual assault and attempted murder. I was supposed to be #7. I was the 7th victim and the only woman who survived this man’s assault. The only reason that I survived was because 6 months prior to my assault, I was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead for 4 minutes before I was revived and woke up 3 days later from a coma. I remember floating down a hallway and being welcomed to cross over to the other side. I remember saying “Thank you for the invitation but I am hearing I am welcome to come through, but not that I have to come through. I know there are things left in this world I still have to do and I don’t know what those are but I know I still need to do them” and turning around to go back to the physical world. Then waking up. Fast forward 6 months and I am fighting for my life once again. I remembered thinking, “God wouldn’t have let me come back just to die like this! I am not going to die today! Not like this!” I managed to escape after playing dead. I managed to find out the name of my attacker and found out he had raped and killed 6 woman prior to abducting me. I put him behind bars for the rest of his life and the worst part about it was that he was only 19yrs old. I identified him from his high school prom picture! The will to survive is primal and never to be taken lightly. It’s been 17 years and I now have 2 amazing children and a wonderful life. @@davidb.6681 Yes my friend. Sadly, those who belive he was feeling guilty for years, cannot conseive the idea that there are human-being capable of that level of evil. They only comprehend what others do or feel, through a lense of analitical fallacy: a comprehensive bias, when trying to understand others actions and emotions through 'ones-self' limited understanding of the world. This is a form of naiveness that often costs the safety of Vunerable individuals, such as children. Thinking that because 'you', as a person, could not do something terrible without feeling bad for another, means others would feel bad too, its dangerous. Lack of awareness and knowledge IS dangerous. Which is why, to this naive people, I could only recomend to get better aducated on the topic of psycophaty and evil (evil in the biblical and psychological sence, which are oftentimes aproached differently on each department). @@Matt-mu3xm It is definitely possible that he could had cry because he felt bad for her at that point, its true. The truth is that only that "men" knows why he cried. We can only speculate. Researchers studying psychopathy have been able to corroborated that psycopaths are able to feel sad, fear, and even remorse. But psychopathic individuals, unlike other people, Can choose when to feel this emotions. For example, when he decided to do what he did to that poor child, he Chose not to care. I believe there lays the issue with not caring to hurt her, but then choosing to "care" After he hurt her. To me, a possitive does not cancel a negative. This is what I mean by this: When he decide to hurt her, his act of self gratification surpassed his feelings of guilt. And at that moment, he didn't care for Her. And this, to me, it's what makes him an heartless monster. His 'regret' after the act is irrelevant. And feeling sympathy for him, and beliving his apparent guild (becaus he cried) was a sing of remorse, is a extremely naive assumption. There is such much more that we, as a society, still need to discover about psycophaty. But one thing remains an absolute fact: psycophats are Not 'normal people' as they are capable of tremendous vicious harm to others (especially the vunerable). And choosing to humanized them, by beliving an apparent post remose act such as crying, would redeem their heinous past deeds, its not only dangerous, it's terribly negligent.

I think it's because 1: many still find ways of abusing, even sexually 2: sterilization/ castration by governments has a sorid history. I know, who would care about sexual predators functioning, but unfortunately those techniques have been used on people that didn't deserve it. But back to #1 -- it can even make them frustrated enough to inflict even more harm on victims. There's abusers that will use objects, other body parts, and become more violent when angered. There was a guy ("candy man") that did all sorts of sick crap to young boys before killing them. No method has worked to "fix" predators like this. Very important to protect your kids, that's #1 for sure. But on the other side of the coin some parents take it way too far and don't let their kids be kids out of fear for their safety. It's a fine line/balance for sure. I wish my mom let me go outside more and see friends more, but I'm also glad I made it this far. It's a bit tricky. You want kids to live and thrive, but to thrive they also need some space. I'm lucky in that I managed to socialize myself properly with a real to-die-for friend-family (I think of my close friends as family because of how much their presence did for my growth and helping me "catch up" after being sheltered for 18 years or so) and finally learn what it means to thrive. But until that point my life was all about surviving and feeling comfortable while also being unsure of who I was or what I was doing with my life, quite aimlessly living and not knowing where to take my life. Discomfort is key for growth. Discomfort can also be experienced safely. :) Hope lots of parents out there are learning from the mistakes of their own parents as well as other parents out there.

In my opinion, he got off easy. I can't imagine what this woman has gone through after his heinous attack. She is so admirable and is truly an incredible woman. Like she said, she is victorious and I hope her and her family can live long, healthy lives. This really is an unbelievable story and I commend her for never giving up hope that her attacker would be caught. I just wish he would have suffered more. The brutality that he bestowed upon that innocent little child was monstrous and he should have been given the same treatment.

yeah, but that may or may not be real - i doubt that there would fire ants right there so close to a grave, and she said herself she was looking for the 'perfect ending'. The rest of her story is incredible and already stretches belief, maybe it happened, just seems a bit too much to put on top of everything else Maybe just my own difficulty believing this case, or my own frustration that the police had perfect evidence and seemingly sat on it for nearly 20 years - just damn, how many people weren't so lucky because the cops didn't do their damn jobs

I'm not a parent myself, but I can easily see how it'd be a lot harder to watch if you have a child. It'd be so much easier to put yourself in that mother's shoes and imagine what you'd feel like if it was your family, especially because it's your job as a parent to protect your children. It isn't a bad thing to react like that, I think it shows that you're an empathetic person who has a lot of love for their own child. It always hits so much harder when there's something in the story that makes you relate to them or connects you in some way, whether that be location, personal circumstances, being a parent, etc.. Side note, please make sure you take care of yourself and take breaks from watching this kind of case if it causes you too much emotional pain. No shame in it, your mental health is important! 💙

@@faunatide Its EXTREMELY hard. When I had my children I automatically had a connection with all other children. I see my own child in all of them. It comes from raising them and learning how cute and innocent they are. Its love. You know that each one of these children has that innocence. All of them. Even after something tragic like this. They are just amazingly sweet and kind. The best little things in the world. So for someone to be so cruel and hurt them in any way is beyond evil. Ill never understand. Never. Even people without children have to see the cuteness. When you become a parent tho you really get to know and understand that they are simply perfect and adorable. Even all the way up to being a young adult. Children and young people are what makes the world good. As you can prob tell I LOVE kids. I have three boys and a baby girl(she is a spoiled 6 years old). If I could I would take every single child that was being hurt. All of them...I would be their Mom. This little girl seemed to have a good Mom who loved her. I know that it must hurt her every day bc she told her to go sleep in her own bed and that was when she was taken. I have had to tell my children the same thing bc they always take over the bed. Ill end up sleeping at the bottom of it like a dog does or hanging off the edge. We look like the Croods movie when they all hurdle together for bed. lol. I cant imagine telling them to go to their own beds and then have someone take them out of that bed in the night. I know that Mom hurts from that. Poor woman. Its not her fault at all. As parents we have all had to kick our kids out of our beds.... I just wish I could hug both of them. :(
