@@JDelwynn that’s because they had to rewrite the whole script during covid. The plot was originally centered around a world virus and everything that happened during lockdown would’ve been too close to home, they had to revamp everything and it fucked it up . I genuinely feel so bad for this cast and crew out of all of them because they were the ones that got screwed the most by the pandemic in all ways. This show was supposed to be better than it was and it was supposed to come out sooner than it did and even the promo for it was ruined because of lockdown. Out of all covid shows this one got the worst of it and it’s sad because the cast and fucking amazing. Sebastian Stan is probably one of the best and Bucky’s character is very loved in the Marvel fandom. I hope they’ll make a season 2 to make up for losses or a great Cap 4.

Interesting to note that Falcon&Winters Soldier was meant to come out _before_ WandaVision. So we would have seen the world struggle, then the struggle of one woman who lost everything. They’ve had to keep what happens to Steve Rogers vague because it’s going to be covered in a later movie.

This might be weird but I've always liked the heroes that don't have super powers the most, like batman, falcon, hawkeye and moon knight. They were always my favorites. Also daredevil but I don't know if he counts, but still... mostly street-level heroes. There's something much more interesting to me about those heroes that could very well be killed if the hulk accidentally kicks a little rock and gets them in the wrong part of the head, but still go and battle superpowered beings. And anthony makie is great, so I love that he got what he got.

There are things I like each series for. Wanda and Vision's story was great and are some favorite characters. Loki is another favorite character and the series is so creative. I love the story in Falcon and Winter Soldier and how they were not afraid to go after some real world issues like immigration and racism. Plus the characters and 2 actors are fun together. I also like that the villains in it were more complex, not just the caricature one dimensional bad guys. Should be spoiler free as everything after is covered in the 3 episodes. I actually agree with the Flag smasher cause, just not the methods. Just imagine you lived in the world during those 5 years. People had to move around to not only work but keep things going to fill the gaps of those missing. So to make that easier those left to hold governments together made it easier for everyone to move around. Now all of a sudden 5 years later, likely when things are just starting to settle in some ways, everyone comes back. Only they don't like this new open world and they want everything to go back the way it was. And now everyone that moved around the world to make it work are being displaced. I love that they didn't ignore this, and really are dealing with the consequences. And using it to reflect real world issues. Edit: repost because of racist troll.

John Walker says “We” through the entire episode 2, but after getting rejected multiple times he gets mad and decides to go on his own. Also just to let you know, John Walker is what you call an “Anti-Hero” (someone who switches from Villain to Hero often, or does bad things for the right reasons (kind of like The Winter Soldier)).

It's a major flaw in the series that could have really given Walkers character more depth and the audience a better understanding. The show never really showed the things that made him so twitchy and desperate. If they focused some time on not just Sam and Bucky pushing him away but the public too, it would have made his breaking impactful and given the audience a chance to see him sympathetically. It's always glossed over how much more difficult and the disadvantages he had compared to Steve.

When they go to see Isiah Bradley, it's supposed to be in Baltimore, Maryland, but like many parts of the MCU, it was actually filmed in Atlanta, Georgia. The scene where the cops try to racial profile Sam but end up arresting Bucky is about one block down from the birth home of Martin Luther King Junior. Later, when Bucky and Sam are leaving Baltimore Police Department (around the 20:55 Mark in Mary's reaction), my household had to pause the show, because we all instantly recognized the parking garage across the street. The location, (Williams Street between Fairlie Street and Cone Street) was one that we had actually walked on several times, as it's just blocks away from the convention hotels that host DragonCon, one of the biggest general geekery conventions on the US East Coast, and one we attend every year.

Something I didn't realize until way later than I should've, was the profound and intentional way Walker misunderstood what it means to be "Captain America," when he mentioned that Captain America has to have "guts." Which is exactly what Erskine and Tommy Lee Jones' character were arguing about in the grenade scene in the First Avenger - the one the military wanted to give the super soldier serum to...the good soldier who had guts and followed orders...was a bully and an asshole. Steve had something very different going for him.

@@baronhomer1 Erskine didn't want a perfect soldier, but a good man. Walker is a perfect soldier, but he's also a good man, but with a caveat. Another of Erskine's requirements was the argument that _"a strong man who has known power all his life may lose respect for that power, but a weak man knows the value of strength, and knows compassion."_ Walker has excelled at everything at all times and has had people tell him how great he is for that. He is a genuinely elite soldier and scored off the charts on everything. Compassion however is not something that the military typically tests for. Then you add in the immense amount of trauma he's obviously experienced in his career that went completely untreated because they were so busy bigging him up as the nation's greatest soldier that nobody bothered to check if *he* was OK. On the one hand Walker is so aggressive that he is a bit too much of a jerk to be Captain America, conversely he was dealt a seriously raw hand and you gotta feel for him. He wants so badly to also excel at this to take on the mantle and do well and do good, that it blinds him to what and who Steve Rogers was and what Captain America is supposed to be.

One thing that's kinda beneficial to know about this series: they kinda had to cut out one of the Flagsmashers' main motivations. Namely, the script was written and most filming was done in 2019. And they wrote a story around a global pandemic, primarily effecting the people brought back. Then 2020 happened, Disney thought it would be in poor taste to release a series about a pandemic, so the recut the show to remove the pandemic stuff. I feel the show suffers a little from this, but I still like it overall.

The script for this was rewritten. Written by the same writer of Empire and directed by the same directors of TWD. They had a good team, but fucking covid….The plot was originally centered around a world virus and everything that happened during lockdown would’ve been too close to home, they had to revamp everything and it fucked it up . I genuinely feel so bad for this cast and crew out of all of them because they were the ones that got screwed the most by the pandemic in all ways. This show was supposed to be better than it was and it was supposed to come out sooner than it did and even the promo for it was ruined because of lockdown. It also suffered a lot of negativity from racist fucks because of the racism issue it touches. It dropped ratings quickly because of the racists who started critiquing it. If you see low ratings, it’s because of all of this. It’s a shame that covid and racists fucked it up. Out of all covid shows this one got the worst of it and it’s sad because the cast is fucking amazing. Hey, Marijchu! Budget Captain America! LMAO! Poor Wyatt... Here's my take on EPISODE 1: Chronologically set just after "Shang-Chi" and before "Far From Home" in 2024. The Bond-style opening stunt sequence with paragliders was phenomenal! Georges St. Pierre, UFC Welterweight champ, reprised his role as traditional Cap villain BATROC THE LEAPER; we last saw him as the pirate leader in "Winter Soldier". JOAQUIN TORRES, the future Falcon from the comics, is introduced! Very good first episode that sets a realistic tone for the series. The Blip turmoil is reminiscent of 'rona turmoil. SAM declines Cap's burden and bequeaths the shield to the Smithsonian. Nice RHODEY cameo. Interesting peek into Sam's personal family life in the deep South. In the comics, he's from Harlem. Being an Avenger won't buy you a cup of coffee, much less guarantee you a bank loan! Vicious Winter Soldier nightmares has BUCKY in government-mandated therapy as part of his pardon deal. His public 12-step program has him making amends by legally and non-violently taking down scoundrels he propped up. His private method of expiation is to cozy up to his victims' next of kin and flagellate himself with guilt. Sheesh! FLAGSMASHER is transformed from an individual villain as in the comics into an anarchist organization whose ideology glorifies the borderless state of the world during The Blip. They use social media to gather flash mobs who wear masks with red handprints to serve as diversions for precision stings that are accomplished by ENHANCED OPERATIVES! Someone with resources and an agenda is using the social movement as a front. JOHN WALKER, the future USAGENT played by Wyatt Russell, is introduced as the new Cap! Hey, Marijchu! A racially-charged episode! Here's my take on EPISODE 2: All-American Walker is married to a woman of color, White Panther jibe, Black Falcon quip, Isaiah Bradley's Tuskegee experiment roots, Elijah Bradley cameo, police profiling, unjust incarceration, GRC refugee camps, mostly ethnic Flagsmashers, the bank loan scene last week. Marvel's not shying away from keeping it real! We get to know JOHN WALKER a little better. Battle-tested vet, ace shield-slinger, humble guy, Cap admirer, loving husband to Olivia. He's no joke. His comic book fate is a grim one, though. Should Sam and Buck give the guy a break? BATTLESTAR aka LEMAR HOSKINS is introduced. He's Walker's Bucky! SARA HAINES of GMA plays herself! The BIG THREE: Aliens ("Infinity War"/"Endgame"), Androids ("Age of Ultron") and Wizards (Loki in "Avengers"). Lol. Bucky read "The Hobbit"! The FLAGSMASHER, Karl Morgenthau, from the comics has been GENDER-BENT into KARLI MORGENTHAU on the show played by freckly Erin Kellyman. The inner circle's aims are laudable and altruistic but their methods are guerilla and illegal. They're all doped-up on SUPER-SOLDIER SERUM! The GLOBAL REPATRIATION COUNCIL sounds like a rigged bureaucratic boondoggle. Who's right? Who's wrong? ISAIAH BRADLEY, a hushed-up Black Cap, is introduced as is future Young Avenger, grandson ELIJAH BRADLEY aka PATRIOT! Isaiah's played by Carl Lumbly of "Alias". Who exactly locked him up for 30 years? The US government, Hydra-infested SHIELD or a foreign power? In the comics, it was the US government for stealing Cap's uniform and shield! Doc Raynor's got her hands full but makes a Bucky breakthrough! POWERBROKER is introduced this week. Will we be seeing DR. KARL MALUS and CEO CURTISS JACKSON down the line? The super-soldier juice he peddles has unfortunate side effects. ZEMO's up at bat next! Sam and Buck intend to pick his brain Lecter-style but could they be playing right into HELMUT's hands? Hey, Marijchu! Best episode yet!!! Here's my take on EPISODE 3: GRC advert is simplistic, manipulative and inauthentic corporate PR masking a government boondoggle that is, at best, inefficient and, at worst, rigged. Actual GRC tactics are more jack-booted with WALKER CAP and BATTLESTAR busting down doors! Flash of rage from JOHN WALKER when faced with blatant disrespect. The serum will only amplify that. "Silence of the Lambs"-style meeting with ZEMO has him using BUCKY's trigger words for old times' sake. Lol. ZEMO reads Machiavelli for giggles! Slick prison break orchestrated by BUCKY behind SAM's back leads to a classic hero-villain team-up! Lest anyone not know, HELMUT is a BARON with a private garage of luxury cars, a private jet and a private butler! He tricks himself out with his trademark ERMINE COLLAR and PURPLE COWL while delightfully stirring the pot the entire trip MADRIPOOR. Marvel's "wretched hive of scum and villainy"! The lawless, former pirate kingdom and super-villain playground makes its cinematic debut! Snake drinks, barroom brawls, WINTER SOLDIER flashbacks, backroom deals, sniper shots, "John Wick"-like bounties! A poorly-timed phone call from SAM's sis, SARAH, nearly gets them all killed! SHARON CARTER saves their bacon and takes them to a sweet pad where she works as a stolen art broker. The illegal art scene has kept her afloat in exile since she was labeled an enemy of the state for stealing Cap's shield in "Civil War"! Apparently, the LOUVRE is full of fakes! CARTER is deeply disillusioned and ZEMO rocks out! Mad scientist at the docks in a shipping container lab worked for Hydra, made a breakthrough with ISAIAH's blood for the CIA, got BLIPPED and provided 20 SERUM SAMPLES for the POWERBROKER. All-out action! Hell hath no fury like a CARTER scorned! SHARON butchers bounty-seekers, BUCK spears a guy WHITE WOLF-style and ZEMO dons the cowl! Fancy vehicular getaway ZEMO-style has BUCKY denying SAM leg room in a call back to the reverse scenario during "Civil War". Lol. A snippet with SHARON and her henchwoman may indicate her MADRIPOOR lifestyle might be a deep cover. WALKER and BATTLESTAR target our trio of rascals. KARLI FLAGSMASHER loses a dear friend and crosses her Rubicon when she massacres an entire GRC security team. Her teacher aspirations and our sympathy evaporate! SAM thinks he should have destroyed the shield! BUCKY vows to wield it! The trio arrive in Riga where ZEMO lets us know SOKOVIA no longer exists having been cannibalized by its neighbors in the wake of the ULTRON INCIDENT. BUCKY volunteers to secure the perimeter and starts picking up metal beads that lead him to AYO of the DORA MILAJE! WAKANDA drumbeats play us out! It is certain ZEMO will end the series assembling a super-villain team. The question is will it be the MASTERS OF EVIL or the THUNDERBOLTS? The former is a plainly nefarious anti-Avengers group. The latter is a publicly heroic but secretly villainous group. Also, will he be disfigured by series' end? I actually hope not because I like Bruhl's sly expressiveness. If you'd like to learn more about Sam and Bucky's comic history either before the series is finished or after it's over, I strongly encourage you to check out KZbinr James Hancock's primer on his channel "Geekin' with James Hancock". Hancock knows his stuff and the showrunners obviously did their homework!

Sam didn’t take the mantle and shield initially because of the complicated history of treatment of African Americans in the United States of America. Loki is fine, but I'm just not in love with the character as much as most people. He's fine, but think he works best as a wildcard to the protagonist/s, not as the lead character.

Do you know anything about Vader Johann? It is supposedly a Dutch Christmas tale. here is a a link to the two minute story. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZeaZ6xunLSFgac

Personally I think FATWS is the weakest of the series so far (Hawkeye isn't finished so I'm not factoring that in), and if this quality is the weakest I could watch these all day. It's still better than most shows just comparing them to Loki and Wandavision I didn't like it as much as those.

This series suffers from trying to do too much with not enough time. It's not bad. But they should have cut about half of the plotlines and focused more on what was pertinent. Make it 2 seasons and you can tell all the stories they wanted with enough focus that each element needed and deserved. It just feels rushed.

To be fair, apparently they had to rewrite/re-edit the whole series. It hasn't been directly confirmed by Marvel, but there's strong evidence the original plot (which was written in 2018/19) involved a global pandemic. Then 2020 happened and Disney was like "we can't air this storyline" so they had to do a lot of editing after the fact.

I thought FatWS was great, but not as good as WandaVision and Loki blew me away

Hey mary, a small advice from me. If you're doing Loki series soon, please do 1 episode each video, many people would love to see it that way🤧🙏🏻

11:20 That really was not a good look/fit. Is it just me who thinks he looks like the old guy from Up? At least the chin does.

A disappointment after WandaVision. Falcon was such a great character who could stand strong on his own but then they ruined it by diluting him.
