My Mom would start drinking her coffee before, but would bring her cup out to the barn…and would loose it. One wintry day I was there when she found one, broke the ice off the top and drank it. Gives an iced coffee a new meaning.😂

Like the water tank idea. collect water from some sort of shed or pole barn that is shade for animals and storage/work area for you. Maybe some large solar panels to help charge the batteries for electric fencing. Coffee first thing for me all year round😀😀

I'll put on coffee before chores. Most times I take my coffee with me while I do morning chores. That way I can just sit down and enjoy the peace of the morning and watch the animals do what they do. Before I move on to the garden. Once I walk back into the house it's game on, there is no sitting to enjoy and contemplate.

Yes , as the water goes in you need someplace for the air to go out. Otherwise the air pressure will keep the water from going in and filling the barrel.

❤i have a couple sips, go feed and water the chickens, space out watching them and their dynamics, then go in and reheat lol. The splayed legged chickens might have happened if they were on the surface of your brooder because its slick = no traction.. which can cause that. Ask me how I know😢

Jason, Go get a 30 x 60 tarp and string it up to catch water. Tie it to trees or put in some posts to tie it to, then lay a long 2 x 4 down the middle of it to direct the water into the tank. Another way would be to bury the tank then lay the tarp out on the ground funneled into the tank. Make a video of the project and remember to thank the Pizza Guy. Much Love from Nikiski, Alaska.

Before you invest in expensive lumber for building a rain catchment shed, may I suggest just putting four posts and hanging a turp or a plastic sheet between. You can make a hole in the centre and put a drum under it to catch rainwater. That will give you an idea of how large you have to make your catchment roof
