25 years ago, this Trini girl married her Jamaican husband and moved to Kingston. Leaving everything behind was hard. I was so young. But.. I fell in love with Jamaica. I went ahead and got my Jamaican citizenship. I am more Jamaican than my Jamaican hubby. Life has moved us away from the island....but we are still happily married, and Jamaica will always be home. ❤❤

There are a lot of naysayers in these comments. Her mom is Ghanaian, her dad is British. She met her Asafa , they got married, had a son, having another. They have declared their love. Just appreciate and celebrate what they share with the public, we don't know them intimately.

Beautiful ❤️ I moved to Jamaica and married my school age boyfriend who I haven't seen in 20 years. I was so afraid. But I have moved my things down in December 2020 and happy I made the choice. I moved away from everything including my job which I loved, I was to continue to work from home but management changed and now longer approved me to work from home here. But I put my faith in God and will forever love my choice.

I moved from America to Jamaica after 7 years with my love. I simply love life in Jamaica more than he likes America. Luckily I was already accustomed to the culture but when I made it official I would be lying if I said it felt way different not having a return ticket. Almost 4 years later I only have one major complaint. The mosquitoes! Lol.

I don't think Yendi is fake. Comparing from what I see on both channels (Asafa & Alysia vs Yendi). I just think Yendi is a stronger, dominant personality and thats something Asafa might have had a problem with where as Alysia is a more chill, layed back type personality and gives Asafa the opportunity to lead. Neither personalities are bad btw. It's just who you are more compatible with. Asafa is more compatible with Alysia.

I live in California it is so boring out here. Only money not much jobs. Certain jobs you gotta be doing business or medical. People are unfriendly. They only care about themselves. I was born in overseas but I raised in the Caribbean for 22 years live in Cali for 35 yrs. Never met a good man. Most of them abusive beat the women up. Etc. At my age. Red light. I've seen it all. Lol. Sometimes I wish I went the right place at the right time.Either Texas, England , Toronto. It seems Toronto is cool but people leaving there going Miami back and forth. Nothing much out here. It's good to go somewhere that has your culture and others. Division no unity. I don't think I'll find anyone. Unless God miraculously send him.

@ Sophie T having listened to how both of them explained how they met in another medium I doubt money played a role in her deciding to move to Jamaica . Lies and cover up. USA Feds informants always have a cover story also those men that came to jamaica to do a 'photo shoot' a few months ago are indeed feds intelligence informants. Madza and solar panels used for workers.

People move from one country to another, to live all the time. Toronto has a large Jamaican population, so I don't know what this woman is talking about. This was not a necessary interview, at least not in the format in which it was conducted. And she is not Canadian off course.

@@paulettesamuels2790 My point is that her culture is African, especially since her mother is African. And the African experience is as tragic as Jamaican. She is not of European refinement, if you will. The interview was conducted, and she was presented as if she is from aristocratic background. It was an affront to the Jamaican culture. That's all I am saying.

Damn u are butt hurt ! She never said she is from a certain level of aristocratic level. The interview is about love at distance . You are the one who is imagining some aristocratic lifestyle . Her dad is white British as for matter of facts. So she is European and African ...

@@Ulriiich23 Do you know what the word implied or inferred means? The interviewer and the interviewee gave deference to a certain superiority about Alysha. Her culture and experience is as simple as most Jamaicans. So to make it seems like she is somewhat better than the experience she is having in Jamaica is an affront to our ways and culture. I have no problems with Alysha. She is likeable, and she seems to be a good human being. I am just pointing out the very things that tell our people that somehow some of us are better than others, and also that foreigners are better than us.

@@decijohn6855 I might have not watched that section u talking Bout cuz I don’t notice no superiority or whatever. It is a big move to leave one’s comfort zone to come to a country who isn’t theirs so I d say she was emphasizing on her courage and leaving her comfort zone to come to another country . That courage was being praised . Has nothing to do with looking down on Jamaicans. Stop bad mind. There ain’t always a problem . Our mind is the problem. U feel inferior!
