Jamaican Daniel Grizzle first met his late wife Sylvie, then Sylvie Maucorps, at a nightclub in Birmingham when a friend asked him to watch out for her. The couple had planned to live in Africa, where Daniel had secured a job, but a letter from his father that he was in ill health and dying changed the couple’s course.

Sylvie and Daniel are the best of people, one love, and the memories that I have of Charela Inn will never die. Two of the most gracious hosts that I am proud to call friends. The memories of the staff and their efforts to provide a relaxing atmosphere will never be forgotten. There, "on 'd beach" we were all God's children.
