These are great tips! You’re so right: kids adapt way better and faster than us adults 😊

Thank you so much! My daughter is half black and half Mexican but looks full blacked and this is so helpful 🫶🏼

We are actually moving right now and although my kids look forward to their new home and school, they also cried for their friends, old life,... which broke my heart and even made us doubt whether we made the right choice. But seeing your video was such a relief, we actually fulfilled all tips, all of them. I especially loved "you are not a tree". Honestly, your tips are amazing. Thank you for that, God bless you and your beloved ones.

I'm glad this was helpful! I would add buying a bunch of toys from family dollar or Ross (just somewhere inexpensive). We got invited to so many birthday parties for our kids and toys are expensive overseas. So not just toys to play with but also for gifts at birthday parties, christmas, etc...

I love the parallel/comparison between life in the states and life in Honduras. Wow! Thank you for sharing!

Great video! I'm really glad you and your family are enjoying Honduras and SPS, if you don't mind I would like to share some city landmarks and places I recommend you all to go to: - Nuevos Horizontes Business Center, the tallest building in honduras, there is a cafe called kilo bistro - El Merendon, the beautiful mountain that surrounds the city, great place to go and exercise and be around nature - Power Chicken, right next to City Mall and Hyatt Place, is a popular restaurant that sells typical honduran food If you have any questions about the city or anything, I'm happy to help! 🇭🇳

Wow thanks for the advice! I actually pass Power Chicken all the time and have been meaning to stop by. This is going to make me stop now.

Congratulations on being so adventurous with your kids. I used to think it was only possible to move to another country before I had a job lined up. Unfortunately, I only got offered jobs overseas in countries where my employer would not allow me to bring my family. Now I see many other people moving with their families and using their entrepreneurial talent in places where they want to move not just where they have a job lined up.

This is an older video, so you may not see this - but do you have a video where you discuss the logistics of renting your home in the specific way you did? Thank you!

For two moves our (Honduras and Ethiopia) our jobs set up housing for us. In DR we were on our and it was interesting to say the least 😂 Mostly world of mouth in a small town. And there was a video on it.

Had me going from femicide to pesticides 😂. Thank you so much for sharing! I have a 4 and 8 year old we are looking to move to Peru and my 8 yo has ASD and ADHD she is doing so well and i have a fear of regression. she had been my big worry but I so want out of the rat race and to be present for my kids!

I would love to move to Peru…my husband is Mexican and I am American. We have 3 young children and are a working class family that would need to sell our house and be able to have jobs wherever we settle…do you think this is possible or advisable for us? Most expats I see are retired or have remote tech jobs. I saw your comment and was encouraged to see someone with children successfully living abroad

Thank you for this video. I hope you and your family are well. I travelled so much before I had kids but I'm so scared about it now. How old were your kids when you moved and did you have help from your partner?
@MinervesOnTheMove Жыл бұрын
I traveled a lot as a single person too! However there are so many upsides with having children as you travel. I find it easier to make friends and find some hidden gems. Currently, I am married so I do have help from my partner. But I don’t think that should deter you from a life abroad. I know many single mom and dads who are doing just that!

Excellent tips. This is Carolyn and not Tom. I'm wondering what Healthcare costs and services are there.
@MinervesOnTheMove Жыл бұрын
Hey Carolyn! Costs are way cheaper than the states. Our daughter has epilepsy and we take her the neurologist here. Our first appointment where she was checked AND had an MMR cost a little under 100 dollars. The MMR alone would have been more in the states. We have a video of taking our kids to the dentist that you can checkout.
