My son left to college and I decide to move to Santa Monica best decision of my life. You made me remember when I decided to move to LA 16 years ago from TX, I came here with fears but mostly with a lot of excitement, coming to the unknown might be scary, but in retrospect, the recap of 16 years with up and downs has been worth it, I have accomplished things that I have never imagined, and again, I decided to do another jump to get out of my comfort zone and start writing my next chapter

Love this. I moved here from Connecticut 4 years ago. The drive across the country had me thinking it was nerve wracking and exciting and scary and more. And i absolutely love it here. I think the universe wanted me to find this video. California looks really beautiful. I think I was meant to find this video as a sign a to let me know I'm doing the right thing. I'm very nervous about playing it and going through with my first cross country move and it's really a dive into the unknown for me. I'm 30 years old, playing in a move from Iowa to California. I'm in the planning stages right now and doing research but seeing this video lets me know it's possible to get out of your comfort zone and have fun with life. So that's what I want to do. Before my mom passed, she always had a dream of leaving Iowa and maybe moving to Florida but given how Florida is politically and with who I am it wouldn't work so I figured California would be a great place to go live the next chapter of my life. I don't see myself living in Iowa forever because I'm not really super happy here. I'm thankful for my family and friends and I love them all dearly but I'm ready for something new and a new environment. Thanks for this video, beautifully shot and edited. I started writing a Novel, but then the dreams I had as a young girl of becoming an Actress, dancer, singer…called to me again. So I decided to turn it into my first screenplay. We moved out of California in 2018, when we were in a mindset of lack- We are ready to go back home now. Our time here in Colorado was good. It needed to happen in order for us to have our spiritual awakening apart from western religion. Now we feel refreshed and ready to create new dreams- We take the beauty wherever we go- Yes! One day I had enough.. In July of 2009, I found some random guy on Craigslist who was offering a room for rent, packed my bags and moved to LA. I was there for a year before having to move back to the midwest. It was very difficult moving without knowing anyone, but looking back it was one of the more interesting times in my life. 13 years later, I am thinking of packing up and giving it another try. The conditioning of failure (as we get older) makes it even more difficult, but as they always say.. life is too short. Here's to hoping next time is different. Great video!

Your dad has a NYC accent (or dialect) but you don't. Another KZbinr originally from NYC too, Kenneth Chin (aka Action Kid) has a noticeable dialect. While he re-located to Florida, you've chosen California. Your videos are skillfully edited (like this one), similar to a PBS documentary, whereas his work is live-broadcast-type videos. He moved to the Miami area influenced by tax-political reasons, whereas you moved to LA for other reasons (certainly not due to its taxes). There's another major KZbinr also formerly based in NYC now going to Texas for job-taxes-political reasons.
