I'm odd in that I'm a Christian, but I usually don't get along with others in the Christian community. I think the idea behind what you're talking about is that with salvation, other aspects of Christian behavior are supposed to follow logically. So if you accept Jesus as the Messiah, you're actually supposed to read the Bible, follow His teachings, etc. The problem is that human nature gets in the way of this. Stupid people who become Christians don't suddenly start making better decisions; they're still just stupid. People in general don't often have the motivation to grow, learn, or do good, and this factor doesn't change because of any religious identity someone might have.
