Whoohoo! On your way back home. It's Friday 11am and Whistler is 32F (0C) in the village ... 8 foot snow base (2.3 meters) ...and so far there has been 24 feet of snow fall (7.4 meters). This will be quite a transition for you two from southern Cal.

That's funny you mentioned gilroy! Gilroy has a giant garlic festival every year. I'm not sure if theyre still doing it though cause there was a mass shooting at the festival two years back I think. But yes, I always smell garlic when driving through the city too so you weren't imagining it Chris!

I'm not from Gilroy but have driven through there many times. I can absolutely confirm that Gilroy smells of garlic. A few miles south of Gilroy on the 101, it smells of eucalyptus. Did you notice? Welcome home (BC)!

I always feel so guilty and that I am going to be accused of something. And I ALWAYS follow the rules. (Well…. except that one time……. But it was an honest mistake. Really! It was. It was just an extra bottle of alcohol I brought back that I forgot about. Didn’t realize until we got home and unpacked the car. 🤷‍♂️) Safe travels!

Welcome back to Canada! Interesting you found the Jack London park. When they found his cabin (near where I live), they sent half of it to where he is was from, and the other half to Dawson City, Yukon where it is now a museum. It is on the "Writer's Block," with two other famous authors' houses: Robert Service, and Pierre Burton. All three places are literally on the same block.

Hooooly crapola!!! Skied Whistler since day 1. Mt parents had a place and I ski raced for the Whistler Mountain Ski Team. After 50 years of Whistler being such a huge part of my life I sold my home up there a few years ago. We are going waaay back when there was nothing at Whistler not even a grocery store. Watch the Utube film "Whistler the first 50 years" Amazing place!!! Welcome back and yes most definitely you will see a bear or 2 or 10. Yahoo...breakfast with the relics at Riverside Camping & RV Resort. Apres at the GLC seek out The Hairfarmers with guitar Doug and Grateful Greg. Try NOT to have fun.
