What you teied is NOT a butter tart. What you had was a walnut/raisin tart. Butter tarts don't have raisins, nuts or anything else in them...just the crust and the buttery filling.

I'm working on learning some Spanish but it's a whole different ball game once you're there and they're talking a mile a minute and not slow like my recordings 😆Did you have to order in Spanish? I've heard you have to be quite assertive at the bars/restaurants to get service because they're very busy. Was that the case for you guys?

The word we use for sled is "pulkka". Yes I have done my groceries with a pulkka when there is lots of snow.

In finnish "happy" can be translated to "iloinen"= happy/joyful and "onnellinen"= content/happy. So finns see the study meaning happyness in the content/not lacking aspect.

Hi guys, I came across your channel some months ago while going down wormholes on Vanlifers traveling around Europe and beyond. This brings me onto your revenue and profit piece. Would your margins have been better if you had a van and driven to your destinations and cooped up in your van rather than forking out for Air B&B's. or hotels. One couple I follow, flew to Oz & gave themselves 30 days to buy and convert a van to take them around Australia. (@Phil and Keely - Chapter by Chapter, where Keely manages to do her job as an online maths tutor while on their travels).

Thanks for following along. Van life just didn't seem like something we wanted to do. I suppose it might have helped us find a bigger audience and would have been less expensive, but we both know that we'd probably not enjoy that too much. Perhaps it's our age. Perhaps it has nothing to do with that and we just want to have a place to call home that doesn't have wheels. :P

In Switzerland ladybugs stands for luck. Most of the time we use the chocolate ladybugs as decoration on birthday parties, new years eve or on 'get well soon' cards. So if somebody in Switzerland gives you a chocolate ladybug, he wants to say good luck or all the best.

Sinalco is German. But the Swiss Sinalco is the only one that is not bottled in Germany. Rivella is the real national drink. The founder of Rivella was a German and he brought the recipe from Germany. The company is still family-owned. Probably the only drink that could taste similar to the original Fanta. Although Fanta at the time contained apple residue and fruit juice concentrate, which Rivella does not have. Although there is now a bit of variety at Rivella.

What a wonderful place to go on a work-related trip to. We definitely recommend making advance reservations to those restaurants. It's such a charming area.

Just a tip: if potato chips are being poured into a bowl open the bag from the top; if you're going to eat a chip by dipping into the bag with your fingers open the bag from the bottom where all the seasonings have settled. 😊
