Hi Rahul, you can definitely switch to BA role. We have seen several such transformations. 100% WFH may not be possible as a BA as it does require stakeholder collaboration. Though there are companies which allow 50-70% WFH. Though it is possible to have some companies which might have 100% WFH.

Iam a banker with 14 yrs of Branch Banking experience. Out of this, from last 7 years, I'm a Branch Operations Head. Age is 38 yrs. Package is 12 L p.a. Is transition possible now. Will age become any hurdle. Will I have to reduce or compromise on my package to get an entry into BA.

Is the transition possible - Yes, of course, possible. Will it be easy - No, its going to be harder compared to professionals with lesser experience. What is good in your case - You have banking domain experience which is valued in the industry. So it will help. Salary decrement - Well, it is likely but will it remain so? The answer is no. Unlike banking industry, the salary growth rate is much better in the IT industry. So you will not only catch up, But actually it will become much better in the long run. Hope this helps

Why and What kind of IT knowledge required for BA? Banking alone is a huge industry why any expereiced banker need some IT knowledge to become business analyst? Am I missing something ,please guide

BA is part of IT industry and works in the software development team. A Banker is needed in the team if the software project is for a bank. But without Banker knowing software development process and the requirements elicitation, he/she wont be able to do the BA job effectively. Hope this clarifies
