I studied abroad for a semester during my junior year of college and had such a hard time adjusting to coming home too! one of the biggest things I missed too was the walkability of my host city. coming home from college in general was always an adjustment of losing some independence. great tips Beatrice!!

My parents would ask me where I was going after I came home from uni abroad too. I graduated during the pandemic and was basically stuck with my family for half of it. It was definitely something I had to get used to quickly.

I moved out last fall, and your part on the "having two homes now" is so true! Granted, i can go home in a three hour train ride (and do so quite frequently) but whenever i'm at my parents i want to go home (my uni place) and whenever i'm at uni, i want to spend time with my family...

right! both places pull us simultaneously, the struggle!

This is SOOO relatable!!! I moved to a different country in 2020 and hadn't been home / seen my family since 2021. This summer I came to visit, have been here for about two months already, and I still haven't adjusted 😁

I’m 25 and still living with my parents (in Tokyo it’s common and cheaper living with family) so I agree a lot how parents ask every single time what I do can be annoying. Can’t wait to save money and be independent haha

I lived with my parents for the summer before I moved abroad since I sold most of my belongings and my car and it was a big adjustment needing to say when I was going to be home, need to coordinate having a car, etc again at 27 so I totally understand the adjustment!

Wow this video hit home in a lot of spots. I moved home back in May because my lease was up & I was working to get a new job as a flight attendant. However, with this industry there's a lot of waiting involved so even after I received a job offer I still had to wait for my training date. (I am still waiting unfortunately). But losing my freedom & independence while living half out of a storage unit has been so hard. I didn't realize how much my space effected me until all of my books were packed away, I was surrounded by barren walls & I had to run my business out of my childhood bedroom (I miss my office). It's been hard to balance the emotions of being grateful to live somewhere cheap for a while & appreciate living with my parents one last time, but I miss the complete freedom. I do relate with my parents asking me where I'm going & who I'm hanging out with. Asking permission to have people over & sharing spaces with my sister again. But it is all temporary & while it has it's ups & down I've been trying to form systems to feel more in control. As always I appreciate your videos & it's so lovely to watch someone who I can relate to & who can motivate me at the same time. ❤

I have a question, if you don't mind. You started your channel years ago, how did you managed the people around you seeing you doing thus kind of videos? Did they encourage you? Did you feel embarrased? Most of the times i feel embareased about this kind project that I do and I ended not telling anybody about them.
@ipgisabel Жыл бұрын
Thank you in advance. I admire how young you are and how confident you look

I hid it for a while because I was definitely self-conscious, but then I just decided that if I truly wanted it to grow then I had to open up about it! and once I did, everyone was truly SO kind, it was only a positive experience. Of course sometimes I still feel awkward when people i know in real life mention my channel and then I think about people I know watching my videos, but usually I manage not to think about it 😂
